im a not so newbie
Can anyone suggest an air suspension gauge/s

At the moment I have a very simple set up.
I have the valves where you pump up the bags and to check the pressure I use a pressure gauge on the valve.

Im not bothered about fitting a compressor just want to be able to check the pressure without faffing about.

TiA ?

Hi.
LOW TECH ME.. Get valve extensions, splice together, get pressure gauge off old pump join, screw gauge into " Windscreen" :xdoh::xdoh::xrofl: :xrofl: in drivers view line :xeek::xeek:........ Sorted. In Powder Tanker days,( Think swinging sixty's) (( I will have some more of that !!)) bit of hydraulic pipe from tipper pipe to pressure gauge mounted on top of ram,get the correct load on, tip up 4-6 inches open valve and check pressure on gauge, sorted " Before reloading, send up ram 4-6 inches and load.Near enough for next loads, without adding/blowing off cargo up the quarry . NOT a Micro chip in sight.:xThumb::xThumb:

or try the marcle leisure web site they do retro fit guages and pipework kit for £70 upwards

I bought 2 gauges, the T pieces and a couple other bits and bobs from VB air

Thanks I’ll have a think about that ??

Thinking about it, do the caps report pressure without moving to switch them on? I know the inline ones that I fitted will.

Martin

Ahh that’s a point.

Think I’ll just use a couple of gauges.
I’ve seen a digital gauge that does two sides but maybe just keep it simple using dial gauges.

I'm interested in this as I wish I had fitted gauges rather than just the valves although I've not had any issues with just the valves but still interested in ideas

Digital for me. Less Gin palace look.

Ive seen some on eBay like that.

From the sellers pictures it looks like they have screw in ends on the two feeds.
Was yours like that and can you just remove them?

Im thinking I could just T into the pipe between the valve and the air bags.

The tubing used is standard commercial pneumatic stuff. Buy a couple of push fit Ts & 4mm to push-fit to BSP adaptors for gauge connection & a couple of gauges. All cheap enough on eBay.

Unfortunately Tyre Pal Sensors, go to sleep if not moving, according to the manual, it`s to conserve battery life. Pity really as it is a damn good idea. But gauges, and pipe are cheap on flea bay.

No. My gauge has no plumbing (pipes) going to it. It has two sensors that go onto the pipes anywhere in the system, where they then sense the pressure sending that info via wires to my gauge. You would need a gauge, two sensors (with wires), two pipe T’s, then live, neutral and lights live to gauge.

I am guessing you need a small amount of tubing as well so just ordered that as well at £2.90 for a metre .

I presume all the systems use the same size tube.

I can’t measure mine at the mo as I have to strip some boxing out ?

I just bought a roll of it from my local truck parts motor factors along with some speed fit joints just in case I ever had a leak or problem....cheap as chips that's why I bought a roll. Worth checking your local motor factor out (truck parts)

A bit late in this thread but Tyrepal sensors will work just from the shaking as soon as you move off. They do not need to rotate. I had one fitted to a spare wheel and it reported just fine.

I am guessing at 4 mm but if I am wrong I haven’t wasted a fortune ?
I have the basic VB semi-air system but would also like to add gauges. It would be nice to see a step by step guide of how you do yours. Just so I can copy like (y).
