Anyone out there know of air suspension units for a pre 1994 chassis.
I had been hoping to get air suspension fitted to my 1994 Fiat Al-Ko tag axle Hymer. Dunlop make units for 1994 onwards but the chassis/suspension on my van is apparently from an earlier year.

If it has the standard leaf spring set up, contact A S Air ( Link Removed )
They do a kit for it :thumb:

The vehicle in question (Hymer694) has a tag axle arrangement and the suspension is by torsion bars running across the vehicle. It is vital that these axles are greased regularly with the wheels hanging - see AlKo website for full details or pm me for an email copy.

As the arms joining the torsion rods to the wheels are thick vertically but thin horizontally and are outside of the main chassis I think it would be difficult to add air suspension. When I looked into it (I had a 694 for many years) I could not find any purpose made kits and did not proceed further.

I would suggest that you consider joining (or at least contacting) HCI (Hymer Club International) as their members have a vast experience of all Hymers and someone may be able to help. They are on the web.

Thanks for the information about the need to grease the axles
Dunlop do a kit for 1994 onwards. (Those arms are square but mine are round in section)
I will seek out Hymer International at Malvern

Thanks:thumb:
