Morning
We started the MH just now and there was a message on the dash board that said ‘check air bag’ and the red air bag light came on.
we decided to drive a mile or two to see if it went off but the red sign is still there.
how can you check an air bag??
TIA for any advice.

Plug an OBD reader in and see what error(s) you have. It may be as simple as clear codes. However if the error returns it may be a garage visit.

If you put - Air bag light - in the Search section on the top line there is a lot of information there that could be useful and may help with sorting out the problem.

Reading the codes via obd socket is a start. You will need a good code reader, not the standard engine code reader.

Do you think your starter battery is down on power? I can often be the cause of the airbag module failure

Thank you all for your input. I will check it all out. Many thanks.

check wiring under seats most common failure point especially if they turn
To be clear. The seat belt receivers have pre-tensioners on them which fire in the case of an accident. Hence there are wires under the seats that are part of the airbag systems.

Hi all, had red check airbag light for a couple of weeks, checked wiring under both seats several times including disconnecting the plugs both sides. Contacted crash data and they said send the module to them but they could not supply new part if needed. Carried on checking and cleaning (WD40 fast drying contact cleaner) the same joints under seats and eventually the light extinguished and all is well. Don’t give up straight away on cleaning and checking, you may be lucky my light is now working normally, I have a 2015 Warwick Duo I also wait for the dash to settle itself before starting my engine.
