Looking at fitting air assist to our tag Hymer what system gives the most lift, more for clearance on rear when getting on ferry or or uneven ground.
I think there are only three I know of, AS, GLIDERITE or VB.

Having been through the “which system should I choose” for our Alko, though single axle, I would definitely go with AS at Warrington.
If you ring up, Cath or Phil will go through the options with you.
We only live about an hour from SAP but chose to go across country to Warrington, crap journey on the Motorway and have no regrets.
I lifted ours about three inches to clear the HPC hydraulic legs over a kerb the other week in an Aldi car park. We normally run them at 1.5 Bar, pumped them up to 5 Bar for the kerb.
AS are brilliant to deal with, highly recommend.
There’s a pub stopover at the Stretton Fox, about 15 minutes away.

Also Goldschmitt, we have Goldschmitt full air.
We had VB fitted but the back end was too low on our Hymer had it taken off and full refund, then had the Goldschmitt fitted.

Other Hymer's seem to be fine with the VB.

I'm looking at Air Assist and have spoken to Cath, she seems very knowledgable, my only issue is as it would be for carrying more weight (not just to get over kerbs) I need to ensure that my alloys and tyres are the correct spec, so that is being done now.

What I would appreciate without hijacking the thread is the pros and cons of having air suspension fitted, does it affect warranty e.t.c. I guess people reading this thread are probably using it already or thinking of getting it so any views appreciated (y)

As it's offered on most new vans as an option I don't see any warranty problems. The air itself has its own warranty and the system doesn't really have any effect on the rest of the vehicle.
Only con I can think off is if something goes wrong only a few people in each country that can fix it. We had a problem last month in Belgium we had a pipe leaking luckily we were only 100km from the company that fitted it the guy came out to us in the evening and sorted it.

As for pros, smoother ride thumps rather than crashes over bumps. So much more stable you can go past artics at 70mph and take you hands off the wheel and the van stays in straight line, same in strong crosswinds.
Well worth having full air fitted all round.

Just done return trip after having vb 4c kit fitted and the difference on corners is amazing, so flat hardly any body roll

The nose doesnt dip and the van is much more controllable when braking in emergency.
Compared to the standard suspension there is no comparison. It's like a different vehicle.

This is starting to head off to a expensive full air trip, O’dear ?

Talk to mick at SAP Doncaster.
He's very helpful.

The ep legs can be setup to communicate with the fullair so they work in conjunction e.g. drops the air and tben deploys the jacks. If thats what you want.
