Just been to our vets for an AHC, dog checked over, was then told to come back in 2 hours as the forms take a long time to complete!
Later got a phone call after about 1 hour and a quarter to say it was ready, vet said she was really busy, 3 that day.
Now to check it over carefully.

How much did you pay?

We paid £75 at our local vets, Anglesey Pet Clinic Holyhead, couple who had problems were moaning about costing £200.

Just got to Folkestone today, AHC inspected and accepted, unlike the couple next to us who were being refused for some mistakes on the form.
They must have been so angry.

I wonder if they would have been able to get the mistakes rectified or whether they need to get the whole form re-written.

When we got our hound wormed the other day in France the vet was filling out the AHC worming section and I noticed she had made an error when entering his microchip number. She rectified it but I assume, had I not seen it, we would have been denied travel.

Not quite sure if they were being refused, or were returning after previously being refused, but they were at the counter when we arrived, and still there when we left. Maybe the £200 was the local vet in Folkestone who have an easy market of AHC failures. Their dog was angry also, growling at our Billieboo!

It's difficult to know what to check the AHC other than obvious errors.

It seems very unfair for travellers to be put in a position whereby they're refused for what might be a simple administrative error by the vet.

If you lose financially due to the vets mistake you could claim it back from them as you have paid a professional for a service

We used Abbeywell Vets in Folkestone, cost £99, working on the theory that if there were any issues they were only 10 minutes away. It was all very organised, efficient & quick, we collected the AHC enroute to the tunnel. No problems at all, we will be using them again on our next trip.
