Try Towcars2 Towbars. They may have one ready converted

I suppose my answer would be a question, what are you looking to tow it with?

Will that not cut down your pay load
No. An A frame presents no nose weight to speak of.
But it will reduce the amount of payload in the MH as the total of both vehicles cannot exceed the train weight: 6000kg less Picasso 1420kg = 4580, less the weight of the A-frame ... as the MH has had it's MAM increased to 4500kg and most of the additional payload is used up it could be a bit of close thing! Personally I wouldn't want to tow anything as heavy as a Picasso.

1420 is a lot but not very different to a largish caravan

Surely the two things are separate? You cannot eat into the MAM by exceeding the towing limit of Train Weight minus MAM = 6000 - 4500 = 1500. Conversely you cannot load the van past 4500 by reducing the trailer load. Or are we saying the same thing in different ways? :)

Probably! :D

I believe that some A-frames can be quite heavy and the stated weight of the Picasso might not include a full fuel tank etc, so for example if the Picasso with the A-frame and everything in it comes to 1600 that would mean the payload of the MH would be reduced to 4400, if the MH is normally at or just under 4500 that would cause an issue ...

Decided not to tow the Picasso and just keep the c1 as a tow car as it’s already converted and is cheap to run thanks for everybody’s input

Agree about the A frame. I weigh mine with the trailer attached so nose weight is taken into account but don't weigh the trailer itself as it's well under the towing limit. I'd do the same with a toad.

I have a 16kg A frame. I used a luggage scale to weigh the nose weight at the tow hitch and less than half was falling on the hitch. The heavier end of the A frame is carried by the car and being hinged none of the weight of the car fell on the hitch. The total weight of car, A frame and motorhome need to be within the train weight but nose weight is not a big issue.

No, this is a common misconception - there isn’t a plated towing limit only a GVW and GTW. You would not be taken to task for towing something that exceeded MTW minus MGW provided that you exceeded neither the GTW nor the GVW.
