We're off to that Froggy France place in August and would be nice to have internet access. Hopefully both phone and laptop.

Are there any reasonable deals for a 2 week period ?

TIA

PS, I'm with EE

We have used the joemobile sim card over the past month. 20 Euros for 3gb data, free UK landline calls, free text in France. We have used internet everyday and haven't even used 2/3rds of allowance. Nice not to have to worry about it. Don't know if u can get cheaper elsewhere as u only going for 2 weeks. But 20 Euros seems a bargain to me. Enjoy your ho!iday.

Many sites give free wifi too, or charge a reasonable rate - better than using your own data if those options work for you:Smile:

Worked for us this past 3 weeks - never paid a penny!(or a euro!)

Yorick, Three Mobile are extending their Feel at Home package to France from July. This means that in addition to many other countries (like Italy) you can use your mobile exactly as you would at home, for no extra cost.

No use to you if you ain't on 3 mobile

Just thought I'd mention it.

Do you happen to know if that extends to the 3 Mifi dongle as well as phones?

Anyone know how good is BT Fon in France?

If you can find it, it's fine. The only problem is finding a "node". If you do manage to connect to one, on the SFR page you need to go to the FON link - if I remember it's at the bottom left of the page. Once there sign in just as you would with BT.

Whereas the BT Fon defaulted to "on", the SFR originally defaulted to "Off" although I seem to recall that SFR had changed that. Nevertheless in my experience there doesn't seem to be that many about so don't rely on it.

We used Fon in France, ok if you get a connection, but looking for them can be a pain. I tend to walk along staring at my iPhone till SFR Fon comes up then do the business.
From 1st July I'll be using my 3 allowance.

I've got a SFR sim in a MIFI unit which costs €30 to recharge for 4 gigs (expires after a month) and so far (tempting fate I know:RollEyes:) it has been excellent:thumb:, despite the very strange places I've end up in:whatthe:

I'm pinning my hopes on the EuropaSIM from MotorhomeWiFi plus their Hughie MiFi, or whatever its called. It worked well in Scotland recently although when I took it to Spain in May I had problems getting it to work which I now think was finger trouble by me.

Forgot to add the little external aerial they sell as an extra for the mifi was essential. It made a weak 2G connection into a good 3G one in some of the wilds of Scotland.

I have a pay and go 3sim in my phone, on the 1 2 3 plan , which suits me , only use about a fiver a month, but as I read it I may have to pay £15 for an add on for a month in France which gives you a set allowance which would be far more than I use and would work out dearer than 123, is this the case or will 123 work as normal there.

For anyone who doesn't know the 123 pay and go is 3p a minit 2 p a text and 1 p a mg and you also get 150mg free every time you top up which lasts for a month, well at home iv never used the 150 never mind paying 1 p so don't really need all I can eat and 3000 texts and 300 mins for an extra £15 for a month but if that is the deal , it's still cheap, £15 a month for more than I shall ever need.

As far as I know it does, you are only allowed 60 days in any 365 day period. See addie's post here: Broken Link Removed

Right, been on to 3 customer services, and it is true you have to have an add on to use the feel at home thingy but even so it's still a bargain, the way to go is get a 321 sim from tesco or anywhere , put in unlocked phone , put £20 credit on it , that has no time limit then convert £15 of it to a add on then you get 300 mins 3000 texts and all you can eat data for a month, here or in Europe :thumb:

3's customer service is rubbish! They told me all sorts of conflicting things about the feel at home service.

Well I've just got back from Sweden and Denmark where we used our 3 pay as you go card and we did not have to add on anything at all. In fact I topped up with a fiver, got 150mb and still have loads left (used about 10mb a day on the tablet).

Whe we went out to Scandanavia 9 weeks ago we had the £15 add on and used unlimited internet for a month. The real bu*ger is that the feel at home did not include Norway (it DOES now we have got back ).

I have used the Joe in France last year and that was great but to be frank nothing (NOTHING) beats the 3 feel at home deal.

I should add I don't like 3 very much but they are cheap ;)

Joe Mobile is working very well for me in France right now. 20 Euro a month (that you can suspend at will) for 3GB data and free landline calls to many European countries, including the UK.
