does anyone know the type of cover provided by ADAC.

standard ADAC-plus cover.

is the cover on a personal level...ie ANY vehicle being driven by you.
does it cover multiple vehicles owned by you or just one stated vehicle as standard cover.

is there a weight/size/CC limit.

cheers

john.

A lot of discussion on another forum John, (no not that one) suggested if you email your questions to ADAC they will respond in English.
As I seem to remember they will cover up to 7.5 tons personal & partner at a very good premium.
I will be contacting them when we need to renew.

It covers the people in the case of the Plus membership. They didn't even want to know what sort of vehicle was involved - until we did need help and then it was just to make sure they sent a big enough breakdown recovery vehicle.

Am i reading this right from there terms that 200 Euros is max cover?

Which services do you receive after a breakdown or accident
in Germany?
Breakdown or accident assistance (including from your doorstep) at the
site of the incident by an ADAC road patrol or an ADAC contractor in order
to make the vehicle roadworthy. Costs will be covered up to €200.00
including outward and return trip and all transported small parts. A
breakdown is defined as a braking, or operating damage or breakage.
An accident is a sudden external event damaging the vehicle with
mechanical force.
Towing (from your doorstep) directly from the site of the incident by an
ADAC contractor to the nearest suitable garage/authorised garage or to a
requested place situated at equal distance. Costs will be covered up to
€200.00 plus required storage fees and deposits. Additional cover up to
€200.00 for the separate transport of luggage and cargo (no animals and
commercial goods), if they cannot be transported with the vehicle.

thats how i read it as well :Eeek: but i think 200 euro would see to most repairs/recovery. think it means to the nearest garage in the case of a breakdown or just a flat tyre change at the roadside.
already seen the other link but thanks anyway john.

They can't accept UK Direct Debits - you have to phone with a Credit or Debit card number or send a written authority.

The main English speaking contact is :

stefanie.schleifer@adac.de

Alan

got an email from the nice lady today......

no, you cant pay by credit card over the phone.
never mentioned debit cards though so thats a possibility.

she kindly sent me a link to the form on their web pages:Doh: which cant be used as they cant set up a DD from an english bank:Sad:

Sooo......now i have to print off the form, add an extra letter stating my bank card number, expiry, security number,my name and sign said letter, then i can have cover.

wondering if its all worth the hastle:RollEyes:

I emailed ADAC to ask why such a small amount to cover recovery and they said this-
"The PlusMembership includes two different Services. One is the towing (Paragraf 25) up to EUR 200.- to the nearest workshop. And the other is the Vehicle transportation (Paragraf 30) to your hometown, we pay the full amount."
So thats good news isnt it ????
I suppose you just have to have a garage that can deal with your vehichle, mines an old RV so pretty specialist, either close to where you breakdown or near where you live.
They also said this about size restrictions
"The ADACPlusMembership protects all vehicles regardless of the vehicle type, which do not exceed the following measures and dimensions:

max. vehicle length 10,- m
max. total length 2,55 m
max. total height 3,- m Motorcaravans max. 3,20 m
max. admissible total weight 3,50 t Motorcaravans max. 7,50 t
max. number of persons (incl. driver) 9 persons "
Now my winnebago is within these restrictions if you dont count the air con unit on top and the bike rack on the back.....are these included ? should I ask and give the game away, or pleade ignorance should the occasion arise ??
PS I think the second total length means width ??
