Hello all, sadly my Ecovip V isn't getting the use it once did and hence I am considering selling it. I would appreciate any advice regarding how to establish a fair selling price. Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Lee.

Hello, work out the minimum you would like, then add a percentage on. Or look for equivalent makes and price.

Look at dealer prices and take 10 to 15 % off to allow for no warranty unless you feel lucky and want to try for the full whack. At this time of year a great time to try and sell if you are lucky and have a good layout/good service history/well looked after you should have no problem

Don't forget, dealers have to include VAT (20%) so 10 to 15% off may be a bit light.

I would say start at around 5k above a trade in price. Give yourself plenty of wriggle room to drop price. Allow buyers to take a "bite" and then a "nibble" at the purchase price and set price accordingly. If you start out cheaper than those on eBay etc, then buyers will wonder what is wrong with it.
Get a new mot and habitation check to give reassurance.
Be upfront about any issues but don't hold back on the best points.
Good luck

Often misunderstood they only charge vat on the increase in value from cost so if it costs 30k and sold for 35k the vat would be 20% of 5k making the total price £36k. Also on new motorhomes they will often use the vat as a reason for a crap trade in value on an almost new secondhand motorhome then ask almost the new price for it saying that its good value because it includes the awning tv aerial etc. On a new m/h they reclaim the vat back on the buy in price from the manufacturer then add 20% on what they sell it for so again the dealer pays vat on their margin. The value of anything be it a house car or whatever is what someone will pay you for it!!!
