still looking
Good evening everyone,

We are looking to get our first motor home. We are looking for a 4/5 berth model that has a fixed island bed in the rear and 2 separate beds in the front. I have spent ages looking for this layout and can’t find anything suitable.
I have 2 teenage boys that are 2 big to share a bed now hence the need for 2 beds at the front.

I would be grateful if anyone can suggest something.

Oh it must be no more than a couple of years old

Thanks

Hi and welcome….

The first thing you have to think about with your family is weight… has the person that is going to do the driving have C1 on their driving license..? This entitlement is so they can drive vehicles over 3500kg. I say this because you will find it difficult to find a motorhome with 4-5 fixed seatbelts and the layout you mentioned, it’s not impossible but you will find plenty over 3500kg, usually with a drop down double bed at the front and twin beds at the back. You will need lots of payload to be able to accommodate your family and the associated equipment that everyone will want to take with them…

Hi, yes I have a C1, D1 and the plus E bits so no issues there. I would like something I can put a trailer on either for my old race car, bike or boat ( when I get one eventually)
There will only be 4 of us max but the majority of the time just me and my wife

Hi there, welcome to the fun...
Having just bought a newish Motorhome myself, I must say, that your teenage boys would be better off sharing a double overcab bed....Would save you lots of money, and hey....let them get on with it.

Anyways, good luck,

John

Hence the reason I want the rear island bed when it’s just the 2 of us.

Unfortunately one is 6’2 and the other has sleep issues hence needing 2 beds
