- Since 2009 with motorhomes several caravans then tents before that.
Forgot to mention the rest of the setup.....We have 240A AGM Battery bank, 160W Solar and a 120A Battery to Battery relay.
We hardly ever have hookup and use the inverter all year round. During the winter anything thats power hungry like a hair dryer or rollers Bev uses them whilst i drive, this way the relay puts on average 40A back in. During the summer on bright days we will use a low powered kettle and toaster with no problems. The solars will have the battery back up in no time.
Inverters are great but you have to know when you can use them. You also need to put back in your batterys what you have taken out.
I would recommend anyone with a big inverter to fit a decent battery monitor like the BM2...Broken Link Removed
