Hi,
I would be grateful for some advice please regarding touching up some damaged paintwork.

I used my ladder (with protected ends) to climb up on MH and clean the roof.

Finished the job, lowered the ladders to see one protected end had moved on ladder causing a 2cm mark to paintwork? (refer to pictures)

It looks like metal exposed. I would normally t cut and polish but not sure if that would work?

Thoughts please before I begin?

Many thanks

No expert but T-Cut might remove the black marks - I've done exactly the same as you, but not suffered the damaged paintwork that is evident in your photos.

Personally I'd be inclined to ask a professional such as Chips Away or similar. If it isn't done right it'll stand out where it is.

I'd TCut the black marks off first, then paint over the exposed metal using a matching touch up pen/stick but use a fine paint brush rather than the brush that is attached to the cap on the paint stick, then gently TCut over the new paint when its dried, then cover the area with a wax polish, wipe it off and I'd be surprised if it was visible

Thank you for the advice

Cheapest solution might be to buy a decent quality badge to cover the damage.

Chips away are really good but, I'm inclined to think that a repair might be too obvious.

There are some very good Chips Away operators, there are also some shockingly bad ones, usually the new recruits who lack experience. I would go with the sticker suggestion, but if you want it repaired do some research and find a mobile painter or bodyshop with plenty of experience. They should have a spectrometer to achieve correct colour matching, without this the local repair will in all likelihood be visible.
