I'm considering buying a DA polisher, preferably cordless, and was looking at this Sealey model.

Any advice please on pros & cons.

Argos sell a good one well regarded and my old Porsche club could not get enough of them.

Sorry Brian, I am unable to help, as I use a 240v variable speed angle grinder, which adapts (with the right kit), to an excellent polisher. I only use it on the GRP panels, as they are the hardest to bring up a good shine on.

Good luck with the search. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

I bought a DAS 6 Pro from cleanyourcar.co.uk a few years ago, brilliant piece of kit, used it for cars, boats, motorhome, caravans.

Just an observation but, I think its possible you have chosen the wrong/or bestest shape, as the professional/dearer ones have longer bodies like angle grinders, so you can apply the correct amount of pressure with one hand, and hold the tool with other. Hope that makes sense?
They also allow different sized pads to be used also, the smaller the better for difficult areas to be buffed.
The cheapest I could find last year was around £70 and I think that was the Argos one also.
Similar to this from Argos at £50 but the better one they had at £70 is now not showing, but you do get more control with this type of shape.

Thanks for your reply Les, food for thought.

I like the idea of being able to change head size.

Got. One from Amazon similar to TinaL. Bauker £50 includes 2 pads. Works great. I would recommend similar shape to TinaL as they are easier to control. You will need different pad sizes I have 5” and 3” change pads in 15 seconds.

From what I have found on a quick on line search, the Argos one is sold under various names, from different vendors, and in different colours. So like many things, they must all come out the same Chinese Jelly Mould.
