Hi Fun,

Proud new owner of a 1993 Hymer B654. Very solid run from Devon to Essex, didn't miss a beat, however the bathroom tap did start leaking.

I've done some YouTube/blog searching for MH tap repairs, however can't find anything relevant. Anyone with any experience or suggestions would greatly appreciate your advice... It is a one-way mixer tap, where the tap becomes a shower (per below), and the tap just can't seem to stop the water dripping.

Underneath the handle is a plastic nut:

And then underneath the basin is this contraption - which I'm assuming is where the problem is:

Again if anyone has any ideas I'd be really grateful for the help. I've found this complete replacement on eBay; however it aint cheap.

Many thanks,

Do you know the make of the tap? JockandRita had a problem with a dripping tap on their van and replaced the internal cassette which is available on amazon and toolstation. Think it was a riech tap.

No not sure Jimbohorlicks - nothing in the bundle of paperwork indicating the make unfortunately

Welcome to the world of very expensive old Hymer parts. I had a 1991 B544 and if you can not repair the mixer.....change the whole tap and shower head assembly, cheaper than Brownhills prices. Good luck

Hi Stanbrook hope you're well.

I caved to the better half and got the brownhill hymer replacement. A bit of a stinger!

Now onto actually changing the thing and wondered if you can help. I'm not great with electrics, and wondering if you know what I'm looking at... I'm guessing some kind of waterproof junction box but can't see any way to open and wondering whether to just cut the cables and fit a new one....

Any advice much appreciated!

Not a Hymer but just replaced a 1999 Autocruise Impala tap with this one from B&Q.
Only a quarter turn on to off. Just had to source some brass adaptor to go from the supplied flexi pipe to a "spout" or "spiggot" into the existing water pipes with jubille clips.

Thanks Jev88 - so no electrics in the just running of rank pressure?

I don`t think that electrical connection is intended to be waterproof.
Just cut the cables and re-attach but don`t use scotchlock, get some Waco connectors. Available from Amazon.
Have you got a multimeter to check you have good 12 volt ?
