Planning on doing the above trip with the better half, starting mid September for 4 weeks, only venturing into Spain for the Motogp. First time touring on the continent so any advice or places to see near to our route would be warmly welcomed

But it's a lot of driving for a month but we are all different, I would want at least three months for that trip. My suggestion would be to stay flexible and if you find somewhere nice or want to dawdle then tear up your plans and chill.

I'd suggest looking on Campercontact - you can view the sites on a map and filter, to see only the sites which have the facilities and ratings (based on user reviews) that you need
