Can't remember the thread or post but someone mentioned the doors opening all the way out and I said we had cable stays fitted. The black buttons in the door allow the doors to open fully if stays are removed..... but the windows WILL catch the body if u DO!

Recently, since 2017
I like the Fiamma pockets, but they are screw in and I don’t want to make any permanent changes to the van.

I did find this from Ikea - it clips on the shelf under the window but the best use I think is to clip it to the little cubby holes at the rear, to the side of each pillow. Then it can take a water bottle for the night. A bargain at 50p!

https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products...ers-shelves/sunnersta-container-art-50303735/

I think @Minxy Girl’s idea about the box step is a good one, but while looking for the right one I’ve found this step. On the SGX it slots between the wardrobe and cargo area when folded.

Now will take a look at suction baskets...

Rented a few times...now an owner.
Just got back from a few days away in SLB and very happy with van. Small issue with middle drawer of kitchen unit opening itself every time we went round a right hand bend...the cupboard catches aren't the best and that ones going to definitely need some fettling.

Has anyone found a good solution for bedding please? I've been using mattress topper/sheets from our super king size bed at home yet that's still too small and doesn't really deal with the gap in the mattress near the step up. Has any one found a cunning solution ?

Cheers

I have the drawer “issue” with the bottom drawer

We have made custom mattress toppers to fit the beds, other half is handy with a sewing machine

A very simple add on is a shower head holder screwed onto the shower cover. Stops having to hold it.
Life would be unbearable without it.

Have completed the modification to the space between the twin beds
Kept the old mattress infill and board, bespoke size foam on line and piece of ply from BnQ

Result much easier to use the step to get into beds
Cant see on pics, but cut the infill shorter still, result is a handy gap at the head (doors) end for brews, bottle of water and/or stuff

Thanks , pinched idea from Madmag

Nice One Cheshirecat57, glad it inspired you! we are pleased with the way ours works. Handy to be able to stand on the small box at end of bed and reach over into lockers as well. We have done a couple of other smaller bits as well. Have made a curtain for back which a cloth inside and vinyl backing so that bed area not exposed when back doors open. Will try and photo tomorrow as we are going to try and do a few other bits like fixing the D rings on the back doors as on other thread.

Not the best photos but this is what we have done to try and stop the not particularly practical coloured cloth coverings on the back doors and also to rain proof the bed area if doors open. The back is a fireproof vinyl ( just happened to be that didn’t look for it specifically)lined with a thin bedspread (£4.99 from home bargains!) had to use fabric glue spray to stick them together. Used sticky Velcro to attach to the van so can be removed if needed. Adds an extra layer of warmth in winter I expect as well.I’ve used the same principle on the cloth areas of door, clear vinyl.
I hope this all works as I am really struggling to download photos tonight!!

Just had a tow bar fitted
13 pin electrics was an absolute ‘mare to do properly, but got there in the end
Electrician looked like he had had an argument with a swiss army knife getting the back lights in and out, had he not been a mate,i think he may have told me to shove it

I really love our van, it is a true home except (why is there always an 'except'?) just as with previous vans, when I open the cupboards over my head when lying in bed. A waterfall of books or clothes fall onto my bonce. It seems no matter how they are arranged, I still get clobbered.

You either need to:
  • put a net or bar in the cupboard to prevent stuff falling out
  • stop opening the cupboard when you're laying on the bed under it :whatthe:
  • wear a cycle helmet! :roflmto:
