For all you owners out there who carry a fire extinguisher can you please help & tell me exactly where you or the dealer positioned it. Mine is not here yet and I’ve asked the dealer for a small, 1ltr, water-mist one. I thought he would position it in the cab area near the sliding door as our previous coach built had it attached to a high locker end by the habitation door & it was not in the way at all. He suggested the garage by the rear door but I’m not so sure. I have seen a photo of one on the ADRIA website where it was positioned on the plastic cover to the rear of the drivers seat by the sliding door at floor level. Not having a van to look at when you want makes it hard so any replies would be most welcome.
regards in anticipation
Roy

Thanks Howard B,that looks quite well tucked out of the way from causing injury but accessible. The photo I had seen was just on that cream plastic bulkhead to the right in your photo, standing upright. How have you fixed it down, is that a releasable cable tie?
unfortunately as I want a water mist one it is recommended to fit them vertically according to the fire safety people, something to do with it being pressurised liquid as opposed to powder, which I think yours is. They don’t say can’t though.

Couple of short screws. The “cable tie” is to secure the extinguisher & it can be reused. I also have a fire blanket next to the sink , which would be the preferred option.

Ours is fitted below the curved step in the photo above. Tucked into the corner at floor level but easy to get at.

The water mist extinguishers are bulkier than the powder ones unfortunately, even a 1Ltr one. I'm still wondering if I should fit one to my van, as I wouldn't want a powder one.

I believe the water mist ones are max 123mm at the base x 406mm high according to the people I spoke to. I had a dry powder one in the last van for 9 years and had no concerns but never had to use it, & a fire blanket too, again never used. I am keen on the water mist type because of the no damage to upholstery etc if used & I understand they are excellent at doing what they’re supposed to do 😊. Thanks for those replies too.

I've just checked our 1Ltr one in the kitchen, and those dimensions match for the overall size although the diameter of the base is nearer to 100mm.

They did quote narrower up at the top so assumed the 123mm was the widest point re the fitting? Thanks for this confirmation

Will it fit in the drivers door pocket? My dry powder one is in there. No holes to drill and out the way ( but not too far). The Ducato door pocket is huge.

All the gear, and no idea!
1 by drivers door
1 x passenger door
1x gap into the rear
1 x cooker
1 x hab door
1 x garage if you have one.
you can't have too many.
I don’t think there’s that many in the local Chinese firework warehouse😂😂
