Hi All
Has anyone come up with any ideas on protecting the rear window blinds in rear of Adria twin - concerned we will damage them when sleeping at night as pillows push against them - wondered if there is any aftermarket head boards or something which can be added ??

Our van came with a ply board approx 800 by 500.

Put down side of mattress in front of window it protects the blinds, but allows about 150mm of visible window above board. Std hymer issue.

Ps sizes approx as we havent seen van since this all started......

Them Germans think of everything !! ?fingers crossed we get to use our vans soon -desperate to get out in ours

We bought a square of perspex (modelling shop) and cut into two pieces, one for each window
Sized it to cover 1/3 up the window so that we coukd still operate blinds
Fixed using “command” re-usable stick-up-thingys

perfect

Great thanks -was just looking at Perspex on line recon 650x200 on each window would do it which leaves enough space to use blind open windows etc - was pondering on how to fix so will have a look at the command stuff

Same as @ Cheshirecat57 Cat.Used Perspex. Held on at each corner by 1” circular self adhesive Velcro dots. Works well. Don’t seal all the way round as this traps moisture. We went to our local suppliers for Perspex, Velcro online. can photograph if you need.

Similar situation I used white faced hardboard. Left flat on bed during day, held in place by pillows and rear door handles at night

Thanks Madmag - will go with Perspex love a pic if you get chance

When i get round to it I am going to go with perspex but the window blind surround on our old twin and the new sunliving are not flat so some careful measuring required. The handles also stand proud of the surround so maybe some cutouts or holes. Maybe wont cover whole window as suggested above.

Ours has protectors for the rear door windows, but for the ones at your head and toes my wife made some.
They consist of a thin foam appx 20mm and then covered to make a thin padded cushion. Its got a strip of hardboard sewn about 3/4 the total length to give it some rigidity. It slots infront of the window then you pull the blind down to hold it in place. Material is colour co-ordinated, looks great.

I used an over-bath washing dryer which I split into it's 2 pieces using one on each window with the bars vertical - this meant I could still open the windows and move the blinds up and down without taking the protector off, they also meant the dogs couldn't fall out if the windows were open and also without worrying about someone getting inside easily.

Finally got my Perspex delivered for rear windows - slotted behind window surround perfectly- seems to do the job of protecting the blinds and can still use blinds and open windows with screens in place so pleased with result and no fixing needed ! ?

We had this problem too. I made a headboard out of plywood and covered it with material on top of foam. It works well and we use it all the time.
I couldn’t find one for sale.

How 'rigid' is the perspex? If you sit up in bed does it bend and push against the blind?

I went for 4mm and yes it does flex a bit and will touch the blinds when leaning against them - however that’s fine as won’t damage them and stops the blinds getting pushed out of shape and getting squashed by the pillows

I'm going to get a pair of these next time i'm in Germany.

Might be interested in return for a bottle of something nice if you’re taking orders?

Could be next summer before we go. We actually don’t have the van yet! It’s due middle of January, I’ve been doing lots of research etc. there is another company that does them, mor expensive but do deliver to uk. I’ll post the link when I’ve found it again.

Here we go
This lot also do something similar specifically for Adria's. But they seem expensive (very)

We’ve spent approx 160+ nights so far sleeping with our pillows at the blinds end and have never once hit the blinds with the pillows let alone our heads, to our knowledge 😜 No damage for certain.
