Recently purchased the above and am looking to put a tow hitch on the vehicle to pull a motorcycle trailer.
The dealer quoted an eye watering sum of money.
Any advice welcomed on tow hitch installers please

I'm a newbie
We had on Installed on our Adria Matrix Supreme and it cost around £1,300 ! - Used the dealer we purchased it from as they seemed most competent. I found out that a lot of tow bar installers couldn't source a solution due to the large overhang. I think Al-Ko supply a type-approved kit.
But whatever you decide upon it seems it will be expensive :(

I have to agree it does sound rather excessive, I would go down the local route before making a decision. They would probably need to see the MH to check out the overhang and Chassis but you don't get if you don't ask.

I would contact a local Trailer supplier who will obviously fit tow bars and ask them to take a look,I'm pretty sure they won't take the job on if there is any doubt to the fitting not being suitable to your vehicle.

Old thread I know, but did you get sorted with towbar for your Adria? Just been looking at the same Moho and would need a towbar too!

Used these guys for my Matrix 680SP

It is basically a big chassis extention over a metre front to back and a big horizontal bar for the ball to fit on.

£1300 or so. I too wanted it for a motorcycle trailer.

we have a tow bar on our 670sl but it is only rated for carrying bikes. when we were looking to do this we were told that the rear area would need strengthening if we wanted to tow a vehicle and that it would cost quite a bit. as we only wanted to carry bikes not too big an issue but still had to go and get it manufactured to fit rather than one off the shelf.

We had one fitted on our current van by Watling at St Albany’s,was £1200 but a lot of metalwork.
Last van had it fitted by Towtal in Stoke, lot cheaper and nearer for you possibly.

Hi, I had a towbar fitted by Watling Engineers of St Albans. Not cheap (about £1600) but I had the scooter carrier fitted as well (can carry a small scooter/motorbike up to 120kg). Very substantial piece of kit which involves inserting steel strengthening bars into the aluminium extensions. These are fixed to the main chassis with bolts and strengthening plates. Mine came with a tow ball, which can be fitted in place of the carrier, and all electrics. The whole kit is officially certificated for the van. Hope this helps ?

I also have a Matrix Supreme but am concerned that the garage is rated at max 150kg. Adria also fitted a spare wheel. I do not know if the 150kg is in addition to that. My point being that a tow bar must eat into this limited payload if only used to carry bikes etc. Pulling a trailer should be ok!

Rosalan, the weight of the spare wheel does detract from the carrying capacity in the garage. I believe the weight limit is to do with the material of the factory fitted chassis extension being made of aluminium alloy for weight saving.
Which is why, when I had my tow bar/scooter carrier attached, steel inserts were fitted. These steel inserts are bolted into the vehicle chassis with strengthening plates, all designed to increase the load carrying capacity of the rear extension.
This, obviously, decreases the vehicle carrying capacity by the weight of the extra material (about 50 kg), but it's a personal choice as to the benefits.
I have air assistance fitted on the rear suspension to improve the handling and stability. This also has the added benefit of preventing the rear suspension from sagging over time.
