Adria Matrix 670sl Bike rack (1 Viewer)

Hi does anyone have any information on how to fit a rear bike rack , can't find anything anywhere in my searches. I want to fit a bike rack on the back of the van , have asked Adria customer service if they can help but have had no answer from them , will fit it myself if I can just get some instructions , so was wondering if anyone on the site has any info on it ,

you will find rack fitting instructions on the agent fiamma web site. i fitted mine to my Adria 670SLT.

the rack is adjustable in height so you can position the fixings where you have sufficient access inside.

i have a rear bathroom with shower against the back wall so i made a simple cardboard foot print to see where exactly to drill.
to state the obvious " measure twice Drill once"!!! or i my case i measured maybe a dozen times..

same here, nothing fitted so i looked at access inside the van for the brackets and then used those measured locations to get the idea where outside the rack would fit, using my template... bearing in mid it needs to to fairly central on the back of the van.

i have a rear bathroom window so that was an aid and a problem to work around.

Had a look and just need to do some measuring up as I have a roof ladder on the left hand side I'll measure length of bikes and see if it wil, still fit I think it will be ok but as you say measure a lot first lol

Our 670SL has a thule bike rack fitted to the right of the ladder.

Have you looked at up plating it ?
On the fiat plate it states 3650 which had been down plated by Adria to 3500 , is yours the same?

No to be honest I haven't looked at up plating might have a look at it though , I installed air suspension to the rear about a year ago makes a big difference cornering and when overtaking large lorries also no issues in windy weather either was well worth the effort ,

off topic i know but when you say air suspension do you mean the assist air bags instead of the bump stops? been looking at them.
ps upped mine to 3650 a couple of years back.

i think it can go to 3850kgs at least thats what the FIAT plate on our chassis states.

but it dont increase the rear axle . that stays at 2000kgs the extra comes on the front.

Yeah took bump stops of and fitted the Dunlop bellows kit big difference in the handling now and if coming off a steep ferry ramp I can press the switch and raise the rear suspension up definately recommend the bellows really well made brackets top engineering kit

Usually about 1.5 bar seems to be right for my van you can put it up more which gives you a harder ride but 1.5 is just nice smooths out the road bumps as well

We went from 3500kg to 3700 kg on our 670SL with no mods (the “paper excercise”) as advised by SVTech; I’ve only just put the Dunlop air assist bellows on the rear axle which will allow us to go up to 3850 kg when the paperwork comes through. That’s 2000 kg on the rear axle; to go up to 4000 kg you have to upgrade the front springs as well. Will see how we get on at 3850; it just seems you have to spend a lot of money (on front springs) for 150kg extra payload. (Just bought a pair of lithium batteries to replace the AGMs, so that should save another 30kg)!
Still experimenting with air pressures - finding about 2 bar is smoother than 3 bar - big improvement in the ride so far.

If I can be so rude as to jump on this thread. I added Air assist bellows to the rear axle last year. I used SV tech to do the admin side of things. This increased the GVW to 3850kgs. Rear axle 2150kgs front axle 1850kgs

When we brought ours it had already been uprated from 3500kg to 3700kgs by the dealer (Geoff Cox of Derby) on behalf of the owners before they collected it new, using SV Tech. As I understand it providing it has 16" tyres its a simple paper exercise. However, to increase above 3700kg you have to fit air assist on the rear axle, that's what we did using SV tech at a cost of £260+vat.

The cost of the VB air assists suspension including fitting was £975 (£275 parts + £700 labour) that is for the comfort pack which includes gauges, compressor and toggle switches (see images). Whilst over £1,200 it totally alters the characteristics of the vehicle, no more wallowing on bends and roundabouts and the biggest benefits of all is no more severe swaying when passing or being overtaken by LGV's. Also the added benefit of being able to increase the rear vehicle height when boarding ferries.

The reason for further upgrade was we found we were almost on the overall limit of 3700kgs and just overloaded on the rear axle, when setting off on a 4/5 week jaunt through France and down into Spain. with the garage loaded to the max 150kgs with 2 electric bikes, sun loungers, deck chairs, 2 tables etc etc.
being a fussy eater I tend to take a lot of food which is unavailable abroad, which doesn't help with the weight.

£700 Labour? Fitted a vb kit myself in 3.5 hours including compressor gauges and switches. I'm now thinking of changing profession.

Thanks was a bit wary about drilling holes etc but done the usual spent more time measuring than anything else but always best to take your time measure several times , pleased with it and as well as it being bolted I used Stikaflex 252i adhesive and sealant found it to be great stuff.

What I can tell you is I need the garage where the bottom of the bracket bolts come through into the garage I wasn't happy with the small square backing plate so I got 120 mm circles cut out of 3 mm the stainless steel and used them for extra strength I used the normal one so inside as the bolts come through to the bulkhead in the bedroom it looks neat enough and only shows the two plastic caps but I used plenty of stikaflex 252i on the full length of both top and bottom outside bike rack holding straps and filled the drilled holes with sealant to ensure water tight fix, will take pics when next at van

Hi Derry I gave attached some pics of the internal brackets the ones in the garage I added a larger backing plate the brackets land between the spare tyre mount ,the internal bedroom bulkhead brackets I wanted them a wee bit higher up but was restricted by the curve on the outside rear panel but I don't thing they are to obtrusive as I said the bike support channels on the outside rear panel were also stuck on using stickaflex 252i adhesive , hope these pics help

Do you know if you can get a 4 bike rack or is it too heavy?
I'm just buying 1st mo ho an Adria Matrix 670SL, interesting about the air suspension and plating.
Sounds like 3500kg is not enough.
