Adding words to a document (1 Viewer)

Hi all can someone help please, I am trying to add some text to a document which I have scanned, I did it once but cannot think for the life of me how I did it. Can you help Thanks.

if it is scanned, you need an OCR program to convert it to an editable document first

Thanks but what is an OCR and how do I get it on the computer.

It needs to be in MS Word format or other word processing program.
There are downloads available to do it by converting it, but not simple depending on your level of expertise.
Is original in pdf ? If so, Google convert PDF to word and see what options come up.
Edit, if you've done it before you may have the converter already installed ?
Some paid for versions of Adobe will do it
