Is it common practice when adding 240v sockets to spur from an existing socket? and can you just piggyback from a existing 12v to a new one ?
I don't see the issue with any of this or am I missing something, your comments will be appreciated

Adding 240v sockets is no problem, adding 12v sockets is more of a problem, voltage drop in the wiring and whatever is plugged in before the last socket. The state of the batteries will make a big difference to the voltage available at the last socket.

Have a look at the size of the fuse supplying the first 12V socket and consider how much more you are going to add with the extra ones
240V sockets are protected by the trip/fuse on the EHU fuse board so not usually a problem spurring off another one

Ok sounds good on the 240v, the 12v I have a avtex tv plugged in the bedroom so not on that much, and i'm adding a 12v to the garage to run a domestic mobile fridge freezer cfx35 which i believe to draw 8amp max, i will be drawing it down to temp on 240v then swap to 12v whilst travelling, so it should draw a lot less.

Just checked its a (ten) 10 amp fuse which runs both tv sockets in lounge and bedroom, normally only one on at time unless grand kids with us

The load on all 12v sockets will be restricted to and shared by the single fuse
So, if you have 2 x sockets and a 10amp fuse the max load SHARED BETWEEN SOCKETS AT ANY TIME will be 10amps

Probably stating the obvious, but for the 240 volt wiring you should use stranded flexible cable, not the solid-core twin-and-earth used in domestic wiring. T&E is not good at withstanding vibrations long-term in a vehicle.

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't be tempted to install those fixed USB sockets that for some reason are so popular. I much prefer a 12V cigarette-lighter socket, with a modern USB adapter. The fixed USB sockets are usually outdated and limited in power. Most modern phones need higher power USB, such as QuickCharge 3.0 (QC3) or USB-C PD power. I have a couple of these fixed USB sockets, and never use them nowadays.
