Adblue, where do you get yours (1 Viewer)

I have no idea what % of us use or need this Adblue, which as it happens is white not blue at all. So I don’t know how many of you can or will comment.

Having read @Kingham sorry take of adblue consumption I’m thinking we need to be prepared. We too have a Kingham albeit with far fewer miles than he, as we just have too many other things going on. We have no clue as to how much adblue the Peugeot came with, we have added 4 litres and would like to fill up and stock some, so 20 litres is probably what we need to buy.

1) Where do you buy yours ?
2) is it ever on sale ?
3) what size containers do you buy it in ?
4) do you use a pump or other device ?

I get mine from GSF car parts. I buy it in 20lt containers which is just enough to fill the jag tank. It comes with funnel to help fill. If you register they often have weekend promotions with up to 50% off using code. If you are member of car club you get about 10% off anyway

I buy a 10 litre container from halfords.
Tank in mh us 17 litre and warning light to top up comes on at about 5 litres, so I can empty whole container in.
About 4000 miles per 10 litre.
Check expiry date on container as it has a short shelf life and don't pick ones that are outside in the sun.
You can also buy a fill hose to stop spilling it everywhere.

Use carefully. I spilt a very small amount on my garage floor and it lifted the paint within a few seconds. I did think pig pee was that strong.

Same as the one I have. Just need to make sure that the caps are done up properly and be prepared for some slower filling than you would expect. Works well

I buy mine in 10 litre containers - same as @Theonlysue and wherever it is cheapest. Provided it is not left outside and it meets the ISO specification it is OK. Don’t spill it and if you do, wash it off with a lot of water.

Most of the UK stuff seems to be made and re-branded by Yara (used to be called Norsk Hydro a long time ago) a major chemical company.

10 euros for 5 litres in Norato in middle of France atm. Refused to buy at that price as still have 600 miles left. Found an adblue dispenser in la chat re and montlucon so depends which way we are going home. Have got it as cheap as 40 cents a litre from the pump.

Halfords, Sainsbury, Tesco, normally one of them has the 10ltr bottle on offer, normally the same brand. It has a filling hose on the bottle, not found it a problem.

GSF is £22.06 or £2.20/l

Unipart is £9.95 or £0.95/l

Probably get one from Halfords this week

That's good for the UK, I found the pumps in France were as low as 68cents per litre.

Got stung in Spain for £14 for 10L but as the girl put it in and the fuel at 1.15€ per L, without me dirtying my hands, I can live with it.

What were you filling it with,, only distilled water and urea, not nice but I have never seen paint lift.
I get mine from a farmer friend who uses it for his trucks and tractors. 35p a litre from a bulk tank a lot cheaper than the local garage pump which they want 76 p a litre, or small cans at whatever price the crook with it wants to charge, usually about £1.70 per litre or maybe less but still a dear way of buying it.
Trouble with garage pumps is that they have a magnetic valve to stop imbeciles putting it in their diesel tank and the filler will not go in an A class engine slot, far too tight.

I bought 10 litres for £11 at Frome Halfords last Sunday, will try and fill up next weekend.

I need to check but I think the Peugeot Boxer Adblue capacity is 15 l

Just be careful when topping up adblue, do not let it get into your main diesel fuel tank, it will mix with the diesel and turn to gel and cost a lot of money to fix.

If I’d seen that figure earlier this year, I wouldn’t be making such a fuss of the low figure that I’m getting, however I based mine on Peugeot’s own blurb of 12500 miles per fill.
