Why Nick it when you can get 10 Ltrs for £8.99 from Aldi or Screwfix, and you cannot guarantee the amount in a tank, How would they even get it out, a siphon tube would get blocked by the filter, and would anyone try sucking it out? Daft question , answer probably

I suppose it‘s not so much they want to nick it, but pouring something else into the tank would cause very expensive damage.

I wonder if there are any figures from the breakdown firms to suggest it's a problem. I suspect locking fuel caps came in due to fuel theft not contamination on purpose.

I bought mine from the forum in readiness for the new van for this sole reason, for £10 why would you not wish to be absolutely secure as possible
