Existing member will contunue to be covered and renewed.

i guess if we eventually leave membership is unlikely to be renewed but cant see them stopping it dead especially as there May be a transition period.

Hope so I renewed in June with no problems so I hope this is the previous news that are not taking new business

I have read this bit of spurious news several times over the years, but at each renewal they happily keep taking my premium.

Not true.. they are just not taking any new members from the UK.. existing members are ok
In fact I renewed just four days ago
Sadly it is not spurious news and ADAC cannot take any new membership requests from the UK
Not quite true.........
As from 1st October 2017 ADAC havel no longer been able to take new Members who do not have a German Postal Address. This applies to ALL countries not just the UK
This is a copy of the letter they were sending out ......
Dear Members & interested Persons,
Unfortunately from the 1st of October 2017 the ADAC Mobile Club in Germany is not allowed to take out any new memberships for interested people with a residence outside from Germany.
For existing Members is it still possible to renew the existing breakdown cover insurance over the phone and stay as a member in ADAC Mobile Club.

The good news is no change for existing members, they will still be able to renew as usual every year.

Hello, still Britain is in the EU. Should there be a Brexit, we will inform our members in time about any changes to the ADAC membership. Best regards

I think the answer is 'yes, we will lose our benefits.' The Swiss, because they are not members of either the EU or the EEA, only have the benefit of breakdown rescue within Germany - not internationally, as currently applies to British residents.Elimination Plus membership also for the UK when the Brexit comes?

Not however it is often forgotten by some funsters that there aren't just UK residents on this forum ... there are those in Ireland, Spain, France etc who may also wish to have ADAC membership but would also be unable to obtain it as new members. So ...Can you get new membership if you in the UK ?

Yes it is anywhere without a german address for new members. Existing all ok as long as renewal is automatic.

My renewal is not automatic, I receive a request for payment through the post, I then send an email with my card details and tell them to take the 109 euros or whatever it is. This has worked well for quite a few years.

I paid using the Revolut card as a bank transfer
Just had our renewal notice (due in December) and also received a letter thanking us for continued support after 10 years membership!
I pay by credit card over the phone each year ....... and long may our membership continue (fingers crossed)

Despite my renewal not being until early March I thought I would try and do it before 31 January.
