We are heading to Spain mid June until mid July. Would it be worth buying a Acsi card or is that classed as high season.

Have a look at some of the campsites in the scheme on the ACSI website and you can check the dates when discounts apply.

The validity dates vary from site to site, but I think I'd be surprised if anywhere in popular Spanish locations is offering ACSI rates in July?

But best to check out for yourself, depending where you're thinking of going.

I have the card and for me it's been a complete waste of time and money. Never found a site with any discount, and a lot are big family campsites with loads of amenities, which I do not like. So for me will not renew.

We use it in Spain throughout June and also believe there are places there & France that do include July, but not as many. As a general indication it is July & August that is high season but often include last week in August in France

Got a membership at the NEC so will give it a go, normally go away to Europe May and October so off peak.
£16 at the show so worth a punt, as we are doing Portugal in May for 4 weeks and plan on staying for 4-5 days at each site on our travels I would like to think I could save a few quid😁😁

Complete opposite experience, saved loads over the years in France, Spain, Portugal, Italy etc. generally in the May, June & early July period. Great value. Typical site rate this year in June €18

We are paying 18 euros on the site we are on with ACSI. If we didn't have it we would be paying 29 Euros. We have saved at least 5 - 10 euros a day at each campsite we have used. ACSI was 2 euros dearer on one campsite than their own special offer and the site told us this. I wouldn't be without it.

We used it quite a lot this year most sites we just turned up but beware the popular sites at Cavalaire sur mer,(still quite busy in October due to 1/2 termers) they only allowed you the acsi rate if you turned up at 9am and will not tell you if there are any vacancies to get you to prebook at full pops to guarantee a place. Bonprteau was nice and full of the German/Swiss/Austrian half termers, lovely and friendly. The bottom site at the Bai was very tired and still had a good smatering of French who we found not so friendly this trip.

Were you visiting ACSI Inspected sites or ACSI Discount Card approved sites...there is a difference...👍🇪🇦😀

I don't think it's as good value as it was a few years back. At one posh Spanish site we were saving 30euros a night, not that we would have stayed there if we'd had to pay full price.

We used it quite a bit this year in France and have it on order for next year. The price per night range has gone up again but that is hardly surprising but so will the full prices. We find it great value combined with CCP card.

As others have said July and August in Spain might not be covered but check online. We’ve certainly used it early July and late August in France. We’ve only used it in Spain for longer stretches in Winter.

We do not use campsites much, as we prefer touring around and stopping in Aires etc for short periods. But we still have the ACSI discount card, and we find that it always saves us at least what it cost and often much more. On our trip through France, Spain and Portugal this spring we only used it for 6 nights and it saved us about €45.

We have one but do not think its value for money, we're in Portugal in September but cheap rates do not start till 15th so we missed out, may be better in June. The prices have gone up a lot also, there are not many cheap ones as most seem to be the €22 now.

Has anyone found a site that charges less than the maximum 22e ?
When you factor in the ACSI pitches are usually at the less desirable end of the campsite, I'm not sure I'll bother next year.
On the other hand, I used the CCP card a lot in France this year and was very impressed. Usually I'd use mostly free aires but the fridge not working on gas made CCP a great good value option.
Such a relief to get away from the torture of campsite booking in process

We have been going along the East coast of Spain. Camping Joan at Cambrils 20 euros. Camping les Olivias 12 euros. Camping Valencia 16 euros. Camping Javea 20 euros and Camping El Jardin at El Campello 18 euros. At all of the campsites except Los Olivias we have been allowed to choose any free pitch on site.

We still find the ACSI discount scheme useful and it proves handy to know in advance what the charge will be, without having to faff about looking at individual websites to work it out.

Perhaps the savings aren't always as significant as a decade ago, but still worthwhile. (y)

In south west France this year we used it through June up to about the 10th July. Nothing after that. Every site is different and inland sites were the last to stop as far as we could see at the time. We are going that way mid April to mid July next year and will have the book.

16 euro a night in Cap Adge the ones in Cavalaire were 22euro, but with the proviso stated on 1st post. Just be aware if you like it quiet go mid October. Sites that are not closed will be mostly after that date and as we found from the 2nd week it was quiet and from the 3rd week almost dead. It reminded us of why Benidorm was popular but even that was very quiet with the effects of Covid/Brexit last winter, as a lot of Brits were there for the 6 month period prior to Brexit. We found this trip the popular sites are now full of French as they have stopped going to Africa.

I hear the comment about the situation of ACSI pitches quite a lot. However, I’ve stayed in hundreds of them and apart from a handful of sites in popular locations have never been restricted to any particular pitch in low season. Pitch allocation in any event is fairly rare in my experience.

We had a couple recently at 15 and 18 euros. I will get again.

Just back from Spain and France last week. Saved quite alot of money with ours! You can also buy it direct from places/campsites over there but stock is limited. No brainer really.. Just get one now and allow for postal delays etc. If you get a discount in high season I would be very surprised but still worth having in your pocket and also book for list of sites etc!

We have the ACSI card and used it end of August - end September this year. We only use the sites if they are in locations we want and would never dream of going to a site just because it offered the discount. However, we regularly save quite a few euros and it certainly pays its way every year. We wouldn't thank you for the all singing all dancing sites, so have found many that used to be municipals but now privately owned and operate the discount.
