To have a card or not to have a card? Benefits? How does it work?

You get card. Lasts Jan to Dec. but if you're away over Winter ie Jan the sites may continue to accept.

What you get.
Sites Pan European that, for a fixed price of up to 23 euros will give you a pitch and 4kws of electric.

The sites that offer the service do not generally offer the deal during very High season ie July-Aug and there are other individual anomalies date wise but all in, it's a good card to have.

We had one last year and between September and December saved over 10 euros a night on some campsites in Spain. We saved a good few hundred Euros in total. Its possible to save the price of the books In a couple of nights.

Works for us 👍

Very flexible, usually no need to book and most sites are a reasonable to good standard.

Useful savings to be made. 😀

We don't do campsites very much but we've got a card and always save at least the cost within a few days. However two things we've found:-
1/ Seen on a few occasions this year, some sites have dedicated pitches for ACSI card users which are generally of a lower standard i.e. smaller and not so well serviced. If all full you have to pay their full rate for another pitch.
2/ You can sometimes get a better deal just by asking, especially for longer terms.

The only place it didn't work for us a couple or three years ago was Kiko Park in Spain.
They tried to screw us for 35 emus.
Needless to say, we declined as did the peeps in the queue behind us (who also gave the multi lingual receptionist both barrels in, Germen (having spoken to us in Queens English up to that point).

We've found sometimes that if the designated ACSI is small they'll upgrade for a few euros so it's still cheaper than the proper price.
Definitely worth having the card.
We like looking through the book for new places rather than always using the app.

You'll have to decide on the basis of how/when you use sites. All the info is on their website.......

Last year we bought one from a funster when it wasn’t needed, paid something into her charity. When we finished with it sent it to another funster and they paid in our charity.
Win win. Just fill in the card in pencil.

What happens if you lose your card? Mines just arrived but I was expecting a card similar to a bank card and not a pop out thick piece of paper from the inside cover. I can’t see that lasting me a year.

I was a bit worried about that so I photocopied both side of it. I don't know if they would have accepted it because I stored it with cards I don't use much so it was protected a bit.

We use the card as travel out of high season and use sites. Wouldn't choose a site just because it is ASCI but a few of our favourite ones are. We fill our card in and laminate it. Good for Jan - December then.

We got ours at a campsite in Toulouse - we paid 22 euros for the card and books but it saved us 19 euros on the booking so cost us 3 euros! We then used it at the Argeles Sur Mer site where we paid 17 euros a night when it would have been 32 euros a night without the card - another 30 euros saved 👍

I keep mine in my euros purse with revolut card and zero credit card. Only used when in Euroland so doesn’t get damaged in day to day use.
