Accurate bathroom scales that don't cost the earth?

Simple question.
Looking for recommended bathroom scales please.
Current one from John Lewis varies by 4 or 5 pound (weight) if you step on and off a few times . ....

Stop doing what you’re doing. The scales think that you’re looking for a different answer when you keep trying again.

Accept the answer it gives you when you first step on them.

That tip just saved you some dosh.

Unless you have a few to compare how are you gonna know. Mine are perfectly ok as a daily guage but maybe not correct to the ounces.

None of the domestic scales are accurate in a scientific sense. I think the best you can hope for is to use them on a solid floor (not a carpet) in a room with a consistent temperature when using and just accept that you are going to get a reasonably useful measure as to whether you have gained or lost weight since last use.

....not sure i follow the logic.... next time you are on the motorbike and look for a gear and don't get the right one does your gearbox throw you a different one next time?

Just weigh around the same time of day each time and then you can see whether you have gained, lost or stayed the same. It's all relative. It's not essential to know the exact actual weight is it?

But the scales will weigh what you are it doesn’t have to be accurate but it will show a loss or gain .
i know from my scales that I round up to the next1/2 pound and add on half pound because I weigh in the same cloths before I go to group so I then know what my scales are compared to slimming world

The OP isn't, necessarily, looking for accurate scales but he does want the scales to be repeatable for measurements taken within a few minutes of one another; hence my earlier joke!

Have to say, we've had the same digital Salter's bathroom scales for years and years. Whenever I get weighed by the hospital (ie usually twice a year) I check our scales when I get back home with what the hosp scales said and it's never been more than 50g different cos I can so easily flip between stones/lbs and kgs as required.

Like the same make digital add & weigh kitchen scales too, with the same choice of metric and imperial units.

Both bought at reasonable cost from B&M Stores at different times. Batteries (common C batteries) for both last for years.

Check them every now and them with a bag of sugar.

You should not weigh yourself or SWMBO every day, only once a week the night before the weigh in. Then you know whether she can have breakfast first. I always went to the toilet before my weigh in. Then when I got home had a full English as per the rules.
