I'm a newbie
Morning
Thank you to all those who gave advice on security. Our Roller team Zafiro is now safely parked up having collected it yesterday.
My next need for help is where we might be best to go for actual purchasing rather than on line purchasing of storage items, to prevent too much banging and crashing in kitchen cupboards :) We live near Stoke on Trent.
Already looking to buy slip mats to line the cupboards but plate, bowl, cup holders?
Anything you feel is essential and know where to get. Also things we don't need to worry about !!!!
We're off away Monday week for a week but staying at family locations in the main so not needing to be fully operational for that first trip. Trial and error I guess before we plan longer trips in 2020.
Thanks in anticipation
Sarah

I have a plastic grid system for my mugs and glasses. You can make the grid up to suit both the sizes of your glasses and the space available. I use another grid set up inside a plastic basket and store open jars and bottles in it. I bought mine in IKEA. Lots of storage solutions there, for example I have a hanging fabric shelf unit in my wardrobe. Being fabric, nice and quiet !

We use anti slip mats between plates and wrap glasses too as we don’t like plastic glasses.

B & M stores are excellent value. For more specific items you could try these people - they are usually well stocked and not too far away from you.

With regards to slip mats - I have just changed all ours to a yoga mat cut to size because the normal slip mats ruttled up all the time.

Edit: Forgot to mention we store wine bottles in socks.

We have lined our cupboards and shelves with non slip matting. In our last van we used a cheapy non slip which was sort of ok but over time it stuck to the surface it was on and had to ripped off leaving half of it remaining behind. This time we have used D-C _ fix non slip matting that we bought from Wilko.

All plates, bowls, glasses, mugs and the like are melamine as the work surfaces on motorhomes are normally a laminate top with a honeycomb core for lightness, but if you drop anything hard and heavy on them or any glass jars drop out of a cupboard above them they will dent and be damaged very easily.
We use plastic tubs to contain and keep together sauces, pickles and ketchup while in the cupboard.
We store socks, undies, tops, and shoes in plastic boxes in the cupboards as we find this is the easiest way to sort out what you need to take away with you and transport them from the house to the van and you make better use of cupboard and locker hight by stacking the plastic boxes.
