Access to lighting pillar?

I'm trying to get access to the lighting pillar to change the lights to an led strip, but can't see how to get access.
The worlds most impractical man needs help.

It's held in by the springiness of the plastic. No screws if I remember rightly.

Bless you Paddy. I presume I can just gently pry it off with a wide screwdriver from the top.

Make sure it's nice and warm otherwise it might crack.
Heat it with a hairdryer first.
I did mine with LEDs looks great.
