Selling our van via eBay. If it sells what would you recommend as the safest way to accept payment ? . I would say bank transfer but is it?

Vans up for £48.500

No I won't accept turnips exchange rate is low.😆

What about some crypto, I have a load of potential digital gold coins, "Shibadanglies", you'll kick yourself in ten years time when you could have been a millyun air. :giggle:
Mike.

To be safe I dont mind if you transfer it to my account so I can check it for you, I wont charge as its New Year :giggle:
Excellent .please forward 5k to my account first so I can certify your account is viable. My funds will follow shortly to you afterwards.🙄

Good answer, I was just checking you were upto speed.

Good luck with the sale.

Just make sure that the buyer has notified their bank, I had, and then it took hours to sort out as the 'Bank' decided to stop the 2nd payment from 2nd account but did not tell me . Kept giving me the run-around for hours blamed the receiver bank but eventually let it go through turned what should have been an easy transaction into an embarrassing situation even got to the stage where the sellers said I could sleep in the van at their house as the time was moving on
What should have been 30minutes thanks shake hands and out of there ended up 3 hour telephone battle to get my own money from the bank :(

Bank transfer as others have said but it might have to be two payments, there’s a limit before it has to be something like BACS, Santander is something like £30000 at a time.

As others have said, bank transfer, but I use my little used online savings account so not giving out my current account number, then transfer across to another account to make sure it's cleared funds....

Nationwide its £10k but you can do multiple payments one after the other.
Always worth checking with your bank for big amounts.

Bank transfer then immediately shift the funds to another account. That’s what I did when selling a car recently.
Then immediately move the money to another account eg current to savings it doesn’t have to be with a different bank.

Natwest is 5k a day I think
We revived £35k for our T5 and moved it across to a savings account within mins there were security checks but all was good. That was RBS

How about £1 a week, direct debit!

£10K transaction limit at NWB but two transactions per day IIRC. Had to do three transfers when trading my moho. Right old rigmarole.

I use my Revolut account all the time, purchased my van from Germany with it and have had payments put in when I have sold vehicles.
Banks are a pain with their small amounts.
