Has anyone else had an ABS pump unit failure on a Fiat Ducato Bessacarr 2013 model. After googling it I found that it's a common fault on Van's between 2012 and 2014 models. The Fiat specialist is quoting £1,900 + VAT + Labour to fix it. I have found on a Fiat forum that Ecutesting near Derby can refurbish the Abs pump unit for between £150 to £200 with a 24 hour turnaround and a lifetime warranty. I will let you know the outcome and hopefully save some of you a small fortune. Fiat do not inform you that the unit is repairable!

I have used Ecutesting, they are a professional setup with excellent customer service. They refurbish anything electronic for all types of vehicles with a fast turnaround. 10/10

Will they also remove and refit the ABS pump or do I need to do that myself?

Thanks very much for the info!

ABS light on. Speedo not working. Check Engine light on. Guest Van and Truck have told me it's an ABS pump failure but have not told me the error codes. I will call and ask them Monday morning and let you know. Thanks!

We had brilliant service from them with my son's VW Golf, just before Christmas. We got a local VW specialist garage to remove and re-fit it. Saved a fortune compared to using VW main dealer, and happy that a good job has been done. (y)

I had loads of problems recently with my local garage. It was a long drawn out mess. ABS pump went. They had it for 7 weeks and did 7 hours diagnostic work on it. Eventually took it out of there and took it to Walton Summit. They were superb , diagnosed the problem in and hour, ordered the exact part but it had to be sourced from Italy. took 3 days delivery. Got the van back after a week and two of those days were bank holidays. If you are just getting basic service work done then use local garage, but if you're unfortunate to need proper diagnostic work then local garage won't have the gear so use Walton Summit.

This summarises the problems parrotface had. Quite an expensive fix if I remember correctly, circa £2k.

Not sure as I removed it and sent it by courier, a bit fiddley to refit as have to bleed the brake fluid etc but most local mechanic can take it off and refit then you can courier it off for repair. Mine was less than a week start to back on the road.

Did you take it off yourself? Which refurb outfit did you use? Thanks Peter!

So you didn't get your ABS pump refurbished then? That's what I plan to do if I can get someone to take it out for me!

Using logic but no specific knowledge that sounds more like an ABS sensor than the pump. I would be tempted to get a second opinion / diagnosis,

I'm thinking of getting the ECU remapped first to see if that sorts the problem! All of the sensors have been checked ok! But thanks, any info is helpful!

Thanks I'm new to this forum. How to I get in touch with Parot Face?
PM sent. Good to hear that people were successful with ECU testing , in my case they found my unit unrepairable.

That`s sad, Can I ask the location of the ECU?. Some years ago there was an issue with water ingress to the Connectors of ECU`s on a certain Car. The maker had located it under the Dash valence in direct line of the Water drain, which when it over flooded, due normally, to leaves in the catch point. poured water onto the ECU connections?. Over time it (moisture) inevitably found its way into the connectors and the ECU was scrap as "Non economic repair"
