I know that Abbeywell vets seem to be the people to use for AHC. How easy has it been for people with an 8m motorhomes to find parking?

I telephoned Folkestone Council and they don't have coach parking, the nearest is Dimchurch. She also said that a lot of parking is permit only.
Our Vet wants £250 for AHC .

We have parked twice on the front with a 7.6m motorhome, no problems, it's then a 3 minute walk back to the next road where the Vets are

Almost approaching average
There was nowhere when we went around or in adjoining streets so I just did a slow lap around while Gilly and the pup went in. Probably depends on day and time of course. We’re visiting them again next week but only by car so we might squeeze in!

Has anyone tried the car park round the back in a motorhome?

Yes, we parked in one of their 3 spots nearest the practice however whilst that wasn't an issue the road to/from the car park is very narrow so turning in/out of it could be a challenge for larger motorhomes, ours is 6.41m which was 'just' okay.

We were lucky and got a spot on the street close by with our 8m van. However we had checked before and planned a route that hubby could drive around whilst I took Max. I would then phone for him to collect us. It was really quick at the vets and we will certainly use them again.

Yes we got around the back and parked our 7.5m jobbie in one of there spaces with an overhang. I stopped in the van whilst the Boss took the dog in. All done in less than 10 mins but as others have said the back roads are very tight and quite a few low drains on the road.

Long time
We just parked in a spot on a one-way street & me & Pip ran up the road. Otherwise Nick would have just driven round and picked me up.

Still dropping clangers and making it up as I go along
In larger vehicles a convenient 'breakdown' often helps hazards on engine cover open toolbox and don't forget a lot of head scratching .if this happens out of the way most wardens/police will leave you alone for some time. Some will even cone you off for safety as long as you put the cones on the pavement once the breakdown service arrives. Don't ask me how I know this :whistle2::whistle2: but got 6 hours in Bath City Centre once in Francis Square the week before Christmas

I just did a couple of circles on the approach road, makes it much easier with roundabouts at each end and only took 5 minutes 👍

Hi, no we didn't. We did enquire in Spain and the vet we asked could do it but the rabies would only be valid for a year. As it is our Max, 14 next month, is not due a booster until Nov. I understand that the vaccine is the same if it's given for three years or one year it's just down to the frequency requirement of the country. He was titre tested last year and had good antibody cover. Did to his age we decided we didn't want him having unnecessary rabies jabs. If he had been younger we would have gone ahead.
I was pleased with the service at Abbeywell and we will certainly use them again.
