Tonight on the way in to work the Hindhead tunnel northbound was open for business. The Southbound will get my atention again on the way home. It is a National Speed Limit zone through the tunnel but there are occasions when the speed signs will change down to 50mph or 40 mph. Unfortunately I am reliably informed the backing to the signs is in th wrong colour and is therefore unenforceable so if you are lucky enough to go through the tunnel when it is a restricted speed make sure you put your foot down !
