Heading for Dover / Ferry on a weekend and thinking of using the A2...
READ THIS.... May save you 40 miles.. !!!

I always use the M20 to get to Dover. Apart from extra traffic, don't suppose that will be affected?

You do not have to go the whole way ,
Go towards Thanet, take the Whitstable turn off, go to the Big roundabout turn right over the major road and follow into Canterbury, then out on to the A2 by the Park and Ride on Dover Road and Straight on from there.
It adds about 4 miles that way. Do NOT go the whole way to Thanet as that is for the Big Stuff and adds miles.
