The Hymer , far from being the boon I anticipated, turned out to be a trap for my husband after his stroke.Un able to afford a new one , we bid goodbye to motorhoming after 18 years, If you see mad people in a car waving to all the motorhomes, it is just us. Great community, thank you

Well if we see a car driver and passenger waving like crazy, I'll flash my lights, peep my horn and wave like crazy too.
Hope all goes well and keep posting (y)

Sending you both a hug. :( Not looking forward to my own motorhome retirement but sometimes common sense must prevail. Keep on waving. X

We thought long and hard whether to sell our Autocruise. In the end we have decided to keep it, but, do day trips. We live in north Norfolk so lots of places to go. Having a disabled spouse means a lot of extra work. We wish you well for the future.

The nature of us buying motorhomes is that we have to be old before we can afford one, then the consequences of age come in to play, that is when pure luck comes in to the equation,
It is unfortunate your partner has ill health but at least you got there, and enjoyed it.
I myself have reached the grand old age of 62 and every day is a bonus,
when I look back at my parents and their parents.?

Look after yourselves guys...life can throw a few curve balls at times. The important bit is that you still have each other. That is just so special.

Got all this to think about next year at 70?
Do I want to downplate ,then will probably be overweight.
(Go on a diet )

Take medical ? May pass.

Get caravan ? No

Give up and go back to boats , possibly.

Buy a static caravan in the sun .thinking about it?
Meanwhile
I hope you hubby gets back on an evan keel soon

If the Hymer isn't right - have you considered a van that can accommodate specific needs?
Depends of course on your needs... and if you want to continue
Wishing you the best for wherever life leads.
