Has anyone had experience of the electric tricycle from A S Ltd in Coventry. Also how have you carried such a tricycle on a rack on a motorhome? Tony

My wife has a folding electric tricycle from Jorvik cycles in York and loves it.

That said it’s easy to fold but not much smaller but easier to handle. We actually keep her tricycle in our garage along with my plain old two wheeler

Plenty of us have bought bikes from AS. Very helpful family run firm and there are plenty of threads on Fun on bikes. Not sure you can use the search facility unless you're a paid up member.

I can't comment on the trike but we have two of the 26 inch wheel AS bikes and they have given good service. We are not TdF contenders or serious cyclists but like to potter along traffic free routes (generally old train lines that are now cycle routes).

To the question asked by the op,
A very good company to deal with.

Hi Tony, they are a good company. So many leccy bike dealers have sprung up of late, here one minute, gone the next. AS bikes have been around a long time and you can have 100% confidence in their guarantees. (y)

I do see the funny side but it's not appropriate for a new poster who may be put off paying up and joining Fun for real.
You see the funny side of it. Maybe the OP thinks “ I see why it’s called M/ FUN”

I first saw the prototype of this folding trike a couple of years back at the Glasgow show and thought it looked interesting as, unlike the Jorvik bikes, the rear wheels/axle are part of the folding mechanism thus reducing the width of the bike to enable stowing in small boots and garages and, very cleverly, the distance between the rear wheels when folded was intended to allow carriage on a Fiamma twin bike rack. We have tried to get to see the production version which AS bikes have been showing around the motorhome shows (e.g. Aberdeen at the start of November) but circumstances havent allowed. From what i know so far, its a well made, sturdy bike. They have been very accommodating on the two occasions I have spoken to them with regard to opportunities to view and test. But, unfortunately, you have to either see it at a show or visit them in Coventry as they dont (SFAIK) have distributors.

I spoke to the man on the stand at nec 3 years ago and decided they were sound and knew what they were doing

Yup.. lots of them in fact.. Peter and his daughters and now his son-in-law are the most helpful folk you will find... and the bikes are super reliable too

Very interesting, if not a little SPOOKY. I've just emailed AS Bikes an hour ago before spotting this post. I was asking how wide the rear wheels are when folded, hoping it will fit in my 70cm wide garage door. Other contender was the Jorvik JMT9 mid drive (better for going up steep hills, I'm told?), but it's 75cm wide. Both look superb products. Good luck to OP. Rob

I also recommend AS bikes they sent a part to France which failed on my bike a few years ago

My wife has had the AS folding trike for about 2 years and loves it. We do not have a bike rack so put it in the garage. Folded it is only 43 cm wide (17 inch) which is much narrower than the Jarvik but wider than the Jarvic when opened up so more stable. We always put it in the carry bag to protect it. We have bought bikes from Pete at AS for 15 years, always had wonderful service and the original 2 wheeler is still in use.

We bought two bikes from AS Bikes at the Stratford show around 11 years ago and they are still working well, no faults and batteries still hold up.
A friendly helpful family business to deal with.

Cal54 maybe you need a folding trike?

Welcome, Tony.
If you can stand the irrelevances on here, I'm sure you'll find it a good place to stay.
If you want to put this kind of bike on a rack, I'd start by asking AS themselves. They are the most likely ones to know what works.
My guess is that you'd need a 3-bike rack with long enough supports for the wheelbase of this bike, although it may be possible to load it in its collapsed state (easier to handle).
Remove the battery to reduce the weight, but it'll still be heavy to lift and your rack may be high... An alternative may be a rack that fits onto a tow bar.
Looks like a useful bike!

Aly1 - I like the idea of a trike and it would travel on the new cargo rack!!😉. Just not sure how safe I would be !!! And I really couldn’t justify the expenditure given my history with buying bikes😂

We live down the road from them. Very helpful. We bought our bikes this year. We took the Motorhome to check fit in garage first before buying. Also had a try of bikes. I’d give them a call. They have room to park no problem
