Since Feb 2013….2nd Van
Hi All,

We've been away some 4+ yrs, although we kept the account going, whilst we enjoyed our first motorhome an Auto-Sleeper Symbol. Mainly using the excellent Auto-Sleepers Forum for comms. But now we're back! Jim is probably spending my crisp £10 note like a sailor, whilst we peruse the site catching up on whose being doing what, to who, and when!

This weekend, we scooped up a new van, a private sale, a Chausson Best of 10 on a 2014 plate, travelling some 200 miles to seal the deal. We sort of hankered after a Chausson following our month long circuit of France in the summer. When we bought our Symbol in 2013, there was just the two of us, now we have a couple of grandkids, so we wanted a sub 6m van, but with the option to throw in a couple of rugrats, should the need arise, and the Chausson ticked all the boxes.

So please stand by for inane questions. Great to be back :D

What sort of dog is that? It has very nice teeth, but looks like it has one nostril bigger than the other.

That's Muttley, our 5yr old Standard Poodle and allround Van nutter. Heres a clip of his highly-tuned retrieval skills in action in 2013!

You gave a lovely van but being Ford based it is a prime target and many have been stolen . We have had eddievanbitz alarm fitted. We didn't want scrotes taking our pride and joy.( we also swivel the chairs have a chain and steering wheel lock!!!

It's a few more quid but definitely consider the Strikeback upgrade, Non Starter from VanBitz - even more effective than an alarm imo.
Here's Jim's review:

I love it because even if they break in, they'll have to either tow it, or stick it on a low loader - hardly a discreet thing to do.
Plus it has a locator so you know where it's going/gone.
It even has a function to tell how well/badly you've been driving  :D2.

Welcome back
