Good solid motorhomes, The Iveco chassis is definitely the one to go for. I would just add check if it is a 3 litre, simple enough, if its got a cambelt its a 2.8. And have a good look at the cab side windows for misting.

I pulled a vehicle check on it yesterday and i have a photo of the V5. It is listed as s 3.0 LGood point that, I was told by the owner that a Flair 8000i was definitely a 3 litre, my own research established it was the 2.8 and informed the owner, as funflair knows. (Not his van BTW)
Yes but the one that Paul CazPaul refers to was 3.0 on the V5, safe to say the owner was shocked, and changed the cam belt straight away, the engines look quite different so go pre armed.I pulled a vehicle check on it yesterday and i have a photo of the V5. It is listed as s 3.0 L

Will do, thank you. that possibility hadn't crossed my mind!!Yes but the one that Paul CazPaul refers to was 3.0 on the V5, safe to say the owner was shocked, and changed the cam belt straight away, the engines look quite different so go pre armed.
Thanks for the info, much appreciated. not sure if the sockets are 2 pin euro or uk 3 pin tbh. Half my stuff is still 2 pin from all my years in Germany anyway so at least i wont need adapters!!!The flair is well worth putting a bit of money/work into----- we had a 2.8 2002 for 5 years and only sold it because our new Portuguese licence will not allow us to drive it ( and to re-register it here is complicated and expensive!!)
Does the heating work??? I can't see a leak being too much of a problem?? Everything for the Alde system is available but at a price!!!
I have heard --- but never seen---- the roof join at the back of the cab can leak so look for water stains at that area.but the construction method means that no damage will be done to the structure!!
The front double glazed windows are prone to misting up so see if they are clear
Some Iveco chassis have diff lock (ours didn't) that is a bonus!!
It is a motor home that if you keep on top of occasional problems is for life!
Expect the worst with the faults on this one and offer accordingly! I know nothing about the 12 volt issues as we never had any but to replace the onboard controller could be expensive!!
The burning around the 240v socket I agree is most likely a lose wire or faulty socket?? Has it been changed to a UK type?? Ours were all euro as it was a LHD chassis.
The outside panels are easy to dent as they are thin ally.
That's my opinion and I envy you owning it (if you decide to!!)

Yes Ive also seen an Arto that was listed on the V5 as a 2.3 but was actually a 3.0.Yes but the one that Paul CazPaul refers to was 3.0 on the V5, safe to say the owner was shocked, and changed the cam belt straight away, the engines look quite different so go pre armed.
Better outcomeYes Ive also seen an Arto that was listed on the V5 as a 2.3 but was actually a 3.0.

looking at the hab check again. everything works on either 240 or external 12v so i am leaning towards the electrical controller being dodgy. hopefully none of the actual items themselves are damaged.
as for the heating, I'm sure i have some speedfit stuff in the shed that i could bodge on as a replacement........!
Heating pipe runs along the bottom or is it the top? of the access door, keeps your poo steaming in the winter.Don’t know of any pipe carrying blue fluid by the cassette?

I'll have a look online. ThanksWhen we bought the Clou, I wanted to change some of the sockets over so I found the name on them and a quick google later I was able to order the original UK plug insert from a company in Surrey?
Possibly wind blowing it up and onto the roof.. If so would want to have a good look at the brackets where it's attached to the van in case of leaks. Otherwise if it opens and closes ok probably not a big deal.Apparently there is an awning but it has a slight bend in the casing.....
Is that possible? I mean how do you bend an awning?!!

Not seen it yet. My main concern is why is the seller not fixing the issues and then selling at a much higher price...?Is the roof in good condition have you checked it?

Wash your mouth out with toilet fluid for even thinking that ... no forum has ever appreciated the many merits of gaffer tape as much as we do!Saw van today. Better half loved it so looks like I'm going to be branching out into fixing broken stuff now!!! needs a bit of TLC but if i can figure out the issues im sure i can bodge something together!!! Gaffer tape is underrated i think!
Possibly. With the caveat, that the cheaper versions, of OBD readers. not specific to Fiats, will only read generic faults not those specific to the Fiat marque. I could read much of the Ducato Codes on a computer with specialised software but not ALL of it.would an OBD scan pull up the codes?

A healthy but uncharged battery should be charging Around 13.6v to 14.5v max... 16+V is way overcharging, it will destroy the battery.it says aug 2020.... is overcharging a thing?
there has been an issue with a 230 socket melting....
Fly screens are ok!A healthy but uncharged battery should be charging Around 13.6v to 14.5v max... 16+V is way overcharging, it will destroy the battery.
The mains socket melting is a Different issue. The first thing I’d look for there Is a loose connection causing it to arc.
From the hab report, I’d be more concerned about the availability of parts for the windows, roof lights, fly screens etc.... If they are generic bits you should Be ok but if exclusive to N&B....?

I’m pretty sure you shouldn’t be using twin & earth in motorhomes, caravans or boats anyway.... it’s a while since I was at the ‘sharp end’ but IIRC, the regulations called for flexible cable to be used throughout. It would certainly be my preference!240v stuff should be easy enough, ill probably rewire with 2.5 cable as opposed to twin and earth which is stiffer and more of a pain in tight areas
This is all planned in my head.....
Reality is probably going to be different!!!
