I’d be more concerned about the availability of parts for the windows, roof lights, fly screens etc.... If they are generic bits you should Be ok but if exclusive to N&B....?

Well I'm home and the van didn't blow up so that's a good thing....
Silly question, what is this and why is it making a strange noise when plugged into EHU? It didn't when i pickled it up!!
New batteries on order! Then I’ll look at charger, then then the fuse box control unit thing. Its a Victron charger, AFAIK it combines the charge from the alternator EHU and solar and controls what goes to the batteries. OE was CBE so somebodies added it. I would get the batteries checked first, they re number one suspect and then have a look at that. Martin funflair is more knowledgeable than me on them.

i found the reciept for the victron and it was put in in 2013 so isn’t that old

I didn’t actually.... however I’m sure it’s the 3.0. More so because of the six speed box and the fact that it’s so much better than the Ducato 2.8 lump I had in my last MH.Did you definitely check the engine was a 3 litre? Last time I saw one of those was in the back of the flair we were discussing earlier and the time period matches up. Hopefully a different one.
if it has a cambelt its a 2.8 if it doesnt its a 3 litre.I didn’t actually.... however I’m sure it’s the 3.0. More so because of the six speed box and the fact that it’s so much better than the Ducato 2.8 lump I had in my last MH.
im going to go and check now! how will I know the difference?
I didn’t think the 3.0lt was introduced until 2007 though?if it has a cambelt its a 2.8 if it doesnt its a 3 litre.

Right where is the badge on the engine that says 3.0?!!!!! i need to put this to bed!!!!!!
on a brighter note the heating wasn't leaking and I found the dump valve!!! working perfectly on electric, just need to sort gas before i can test in on that.
now to sort out the water pump.......!

Thats a relief, the one we were talking about was troublesome.3.0 unless the cover is lying!
In 2005 you could get 3litre as an upgrade 2.8 as standard.Being a rear wheel drive it will be an Iveco Daily base vehicle not Ducato, which I think had the 3 litre motor from 2004

This one may yet cause me a few wallet issues!! So far however things have started working that were previously down as inoperable. I did find that the Neutral cable form the EHU 240 into the battery charger was not tight and fell out. Since I've tightened it, more lights, the extractor fan and the heating on electric have started working!Thats a relief, the one we were talking about was troublesome.
Earlier ones were 2.8 There was a crossover in 2006. 3 litre is a much better engine. The information I have suggests that the F-1C 3 litre engine was introduced in 2004 and that at this time, the old 8140 engine (2.8) was completely replaced.

Looking at that brings back the true quality of them, much better than the later ones IMHOThis is 2005 N+B Flair price list and shows both 2.8 and 3 litre,
dumb question. where is the thermostat on the 3.0 Iveco? I cant for the life of me find anything online as to its whereabouts.... van has a slight issue where it doesn't like starting when warm (even though it does start) and the temp gauge is sitting mostly at 3/4. also I cant seem to feel any water when I squeeze the pipes. my thinking is that it wont do any harm to swap out the thermostat if I can find it!! Crankshaft sensor will be next!!
Those are the days JonLooking at that brings back the true quality of them, much better than the later ones IMHO
It also reminded me that you could have them on the 6 tonne sprinter chassis, 3 choices for the same motorhome is pretty impressive.
