After a 5 hour day on the motorway from Cordoba we arrived today at Camping El Greco in Toledo to stay for the May 1st Festival weekend. We saw the Cathedral some 10 years ago from afar as we circumnavigated the city on our way to Madrid and vowed to one day stop. It’s the most expensive campsite, outside CAMC, site we have ever stayed at €33 a night rising to €45 for the festival 3 days, but first appearances are beautiful and we can even see the Cathedral from here

Tourtour in Provence. Free camping in the “parking” for the football “stadium”. It’s a massive area - we parked on the hard pack because it was raining hard when we arrived.

I remember that Aire well, they had just finished building it when we stayed, with a lovely view too, there is a small restaurant in the village behind, food was good, and a fair price.

600 Spanish aires in the All the Aires Spain and Portugal book, 173 for Portugal and of that I know 1 (Chaves) that is no longer there, early days of course, we have only been in the country for 3 days and thanks for the 7 you have mentioned

There are too many Free Aire's in Portugal to mention, almost one in every town or village.

How long does it take you to 'make camp' and to 'break camp'?

About half an hour. A nice leisurely pace accompanied by a nice brew.

Had a lovely relaxing 4 day break here on a camp site called La Durance in Cavaillon, France. After coming from Italy and heading to Spain tomorrow.

Sygun Copper Mine in the heart of Snowdonia. £10 to overnight in their carpark. Lovely 20 minute walk along a quiet paved track into Beddgelert for a selection of pubs, shops and eateries.

Another CL all to ourselves. Redlands near Pin Mill, Suffolk. A short walk to the estuary, and a good Chinese takeaway across the road.
