Since 1964 Gosh that makes me feel old.
Hazel ( Mrsambulancekidd ) & I have been wilding in the middle of the Galloway Forest park at Kirriereoch.
This is an old favourite spot & I've been wild motorhome camping there since the very early 60s.
Last night & this morning was special, firstly the weather was fine & clear, so we could watch the celestial event known as the Orionids meteor shower, this is where the earth passes through the trail left by Halley's comet.
We didn't see much of the meteorites until after midnight but there was a very long lived spectacular meteor which was awesome.

Now there is also a huge military exercise going on in the forest & we've been watching Merlin helicopters & the like flying over our house for many days now.
When we left to come home this morning we discovered armed assault vehicles & there was soldiers manning the upper guns, seems like they were trying to pick out the troops passing through the glen & the locals have been warned that there will be gunfire, however they are blanks, we'd been right in the crosshairs lol.
It is heartwarming to see our armed forces doing their stuff & it always gives me the same kind of buzz the seeing Concorde did (they used to train at Prestwick in September every year).

The mutts had a wonderful time, free to run around as they pleased & one of the forest rangers stopped to let his springer spaniel have a run around this morning, giving us a cheery wave as he arrived.

Just got sent this ambulancekidd, rumour is they skidded on the grey waste dribbled from a campervan

Excellent mate, love it. Must be more careful in future, I think emptying the toilet cassette into the road might just have contributed to this mishap?
Brings a whole new meaning to "skid marks".:dance2:

Our waterfront site at Port Tarakohe in Golden Bay, at the top of the South Island, NZ. And it costs the equivalent of just 3 pounds per night. The port is used by the mussel boats unloading delicious green lipped mussels that are mainly exported to Japan or processed to extract liprinol, used in anti-arthritis drugs.

Crappy photo this time of night but...

20191102_174444.jpg

... parked up at Aberdeen beach after the football today. Listening to the noise from the big white wall of water making it's way to the shore.

Probably one of my favourite places to park up for the night. Granted I am a bit biased as a local lad myself.

After last nights thread from you, I tentatively approached this post as I thought this "A photo of the outside from Inside" may possible have been from the inside of a coffin. :D
