Waiting for my mobile hab check engineer to arrive. Weather's a bit iffy but a grand view out the window.

This is where we meet. I'm standing in the old trackbed.

Where are you Wendy?
Just outside Inverness Sandra. You can just see Fort George to the right of the photo, and Chanonry Point across the water.
Inverness area isn't having the best weather - still got yellow "heavy rain" warnings. And I'm out walking, getting wet, because there's no signal where I'm parked and I'm expecting an important email. I do seem to find a lot of "dead" dead ends. Scurrying back to the van now ...

Well, that's the dog walk up the river stuffed for the next 6 months, it's the Sustrans cycleway and part of the Cumbrian Way, they said there was no alternative for pedestrians (they wouldn't put in a temporary footbridge over any trenching) they're moving a gas pipe to build a bypass that's already run out of construction money.
I wondered where the consultants from Crossrail had moved on to ?

One corner of tonight's park-up on a fruit farm - the shop smells divine! - fresh-picked strawberries, raspberries, brambles, gooseberries, plums, redcurrants ... mmmmm!

20220816_162324.jpg

Had a wander around and there's long beans & broad beans, eating apples & cooking apples,
20220816_161440.jpg

red and green lettuces, courgettes, potatoes, onions and who knows what else. Oh, me! me! I know what else - tomatoes!

PYO soft fruit or everything available in the shop.
What’s not to love about BritStops???

This photo came up on my Apple Photo Memory this morning. On this day 6 years ago we delivered our motorhome to Southampton Docks to be loaded onto the ship bound for Auckland. We have such happy memories of touring the UK for six months prior to exporting her. The photos that you all put up on MHF bring those memories flooding back and tempt me to return. One day!?

We are on our way, but minus the motorhome. Can not wait to see the beautiful UK again. Plus of course our son, daughter in law, and the two granddaughters.

If I pay you $100 will you bring me back another motorhome? I’ve worn this one out.
You left the South Island at the right time. Nelson, Tasman, Marlborough and West Coast are having terrible floods. I’ve never seen anything like it.

The floods are sounding terrible. Unbelievable really. You will be ok up on the hill. But it isn't nice seeing our lovely cities and towns being affected.

There’s a bit of a story around the renovation of the Spitfire, much of it was done by prisoners at Dumfries Prison and the Mk 1 Gunsight fitted to it was gifted to the museum by my son years ago. He didn’t realise the value of it 😝
