Job of the day was a team rescue of this swan enabled by instructions from me on CCTV of "Away" and "Come bye".
Over half a mile of guiding him to our lake.
Reviewed CCTV and played it in 2x FF to the Benny hill theme.
Unfortunately really can't upload it

New Zealand has sold out of Ukrainian flags. We tried the usual places; Flags R Us, Flags Direct, Flags Plus, Flags & More, Flags for Africa, etc. plus Trade Me (NZ's answer to eBay) and all the Poundland-type shops, but they were all sold out. In the end we bought the lucky last flag at - of all the places - The Scottish Shop in Dunedin (bottom of the South Island). We phoned them up and a very nice lady with a strong Glaswegian accent arranged for it to be couriered to us at no extra cost.
Nelson, where I live, is the base for a fleet of Ukrainian fishing boats that fish in the Ross Sea. When they are in port the supermarkets stock-up on sunflower seeds which they like to toast and eat with their vodka. The vodka may be harder to find as many NZ liquor stores have stopped buying it from Russia.
Hopefully the Ukrainian sailors can see our flag flying in support of their homeland.

Long weekend trip to York. Took out membership with the CAMC and used Beechwood Grange site, which was lovely. Glad we did as being on EHU was nice to keep the van lovely and warm.

Headed north in the morning, over the edge of the Cairngorms and the 'Whisky Capital' of Dufftown. Never seen so many distilleries in one place.
Ended up at the Aire at Findhorn...

I found a Medieval Chateau at Oudon today, unfortunately it was closed so i couldn't get inside but it might be worth a visit when it does open again.
