First motorhome May 2021
I had to ride my motorbike down dirt roads to get this photo, but i wanted one across open fields, i was a fair way away so it's quite heavily cropped.

Slightly different, I guess.

I am always bemoaning that I havn't seen or heard a skylark for years and I think they have the most beautiful song of Summer. When little, my dad and I used to go for a walk across fields and we had to tread carefully not to stand on their tiny nests. Lovely memories.

Last night I was reading (trying.. Funny eyes) a novel and this paragraph, (my photo of the day), brought it all back again. Just sharing.

Silloth brings back happy memories of my childhood

Silloth has never changed! I first visited on a Sunday School trip in, probably, 1951.
A Victorian style Seaside resort without all the bells, whistles and flashing lights.
Loads and loads of open space and greenery. Parking, even for MH's plentiful and free.
Great promenade, lovely views over to Scotland and the other way to the Lake District.

Above all, the people are open and friendly.!!

Yes, we :h: Silloth!

Being brought up no more than 20 miles from Silloth it is definitely a part of our growing up.

Sunday afternoons with parents having donkey rides or playing on the putting green. Ice creams afterwards or even fish and chips if the money was available.

Visiting with my girlfriend, now wife for almost 54 years.

We regularly revisited while visiting parents, sadly now all died.

We will revisit some day, I am sure.(y)

Is this the perfect garden for some men? A Pool, great weather and motorbikes. Bikes are there for photo only. If you want to chill. Just grab a beer from the fridge and watch the humming birds dive bombing each other and feeding 3ft away. There are so many in the height of the season that the feeders are filled every day.

Missing Elsie the motorhome back in UK. American RVing is great but you can't beat motorhoming back in UK and Europe.
