The tide has been quite high lately and I noticed this on our walk to Hamble beach today. At first I thought it was a Solent Mini Monster stranded by said high tide, but it turned out to be an old tree root! Interesting shape though.

Didn't venture far from home for a day out in the MH.

A short drive onto Caldbeck Common, an area of moorland on the northern edge of the Lake District and then a brisk walk through the frost to the top.

Found some 'past their best' fungii...

The sun was trying its hardest to burn through the frost...

Back to the warm van and a ham sandwich with home made broth

Some photos from our wildcamping spots between Timaru and Christchurch, South Island, NZ.
The bird life has been amazing. Whitebaiters out in force as the season comes to an end. We always like to be beside the sea or a lake, of possible, but we don’t mind paying the equivalent of 3 pounds to stay at a racecourse. The one in the photo is Timaru Phar Lap racecourse where you wake to the sound of horses galloping past.

Was up early today for a change, beautiful sunrise, camera phone doesn't do it justice. Looking South east. Hiding below the little hill on the left, directly under the sunburst is Carlisle racecourse, but they're starting work on the bypass soon that will bisect this view left to right.
