Well that's fantastic, Alan (y)! You're a very lucky man. But I thought that every day was your day of rest :D.

We've had similar from Sports Direct and Millets ... for some unknown reason they seem unable to realise that a small box would suffice, of course it could simply be that they don't want the contents being small to get lost amongst all the humungous boxes they normally send out! :D2

im a not so newbie
No doubt the sellers have certain size boxes to cut down on having different storage areas.

They buy in bulk so no saving buying smaller boxes.

They pay the same to the courier for a larger box as they do a smaller box so no saving there.

Think I'm thinking to much about this :D

Spot on! It also simplifies their automated conveyor belt sorting systems.

I've limited knowledge of cardboard engineering, but I wouldn't be surprised if smaller sizes started to get more expensive to produce at some stage.

I don’t know what the moaning is about. Don’t people realise it’s to prevent smaller items being lost, the opposite of thinking outside the box and probably promoted by a company calling themselves “ smaller logistical solutions” or any such bo..ox’s, so long as it includes the word “solutions” and is accompanied by a logo is some sort, perhaps “looking after the little things in you life” or something similar:)
