I thought long and hard before posting this link, it is not my intention to put people off visiting Greece but the UK motorhome fraternity thrives on rumour and speculation especially where bad news is concerned.

See http://www.magbaztravels.com/content/view/1358/314/

The info is from a very reliable source so I've posted it as a warning to be extra vigilant if you plan to travel and wild camp Greece in the future.

We have been visiting Greece since 1969 and never had any problems. We shall be in Greece later this month on route to Turkey.

Safe travelling.

Sad times. The unrealistic structure of the EU is not helping........together with the legal influx of undesirables from Eastern Europe that the EU allows.. If you look at the level of unemployment in Europe..........growing day by day particularly in Southern Europe..then we can expect a proportional increase in petty crime and eventually very serious social unrest.

Thanks Don for the heads up........... just be careful out there.

Thanks for posting this info. Don------------------We spent a winter in Greece in the '80s-------and REALLY loved the Country and People----at that time they hated the Germans---memories from WW 2 !!!!! especially on Crete where the Germans gave them a VERY hard time:Sad:
Even so long ago there were isolated problems, but usually in very touristy and secluded spots, so we had to be carefull:Sad:

From your post, it seems as though the South Peloponese is a good place to avoid-------and while the 'riots' are going on, best to give Athens a wide berth:Sad:
It seems to us that every Country contaminated by EU is a much less pleasent (and more expensive) place to visit:cry::cry:
But a return visit to Greece is on our plan:thumb::thumb:
