The below caught my eye, seems good value - is it too good?
The chap bought it new when he stayed in Italy and then returned with it 4 years ago and it’s not had any use since, like zero miles.
Decided to re-register it here a couple of months back which is possibly why it’s showing as a 2020 in the ad header? Given the timelines (and possible discrepancy in the ad) I asked if he could send me a picture of the V5 showing him as the registered keeper and the GVW as he wasn’t sure, and to blank out the V5 reference number or anything else he was uncomfortable with - he declined. That was the end of our conversations.
What’s your thoughts/advice?
I forgot to mention, it’s 10 years old (on a 59 plate now)

I get directed to an ad of some kind in the link, hope this isn’t a scam

But your own description would be enough to drop it quickly anyway I reckon ?
If you copy the link and paste into a browser it should work??

Unless you have enough information to carry out a HPI check don't touch it, and from what you have said...walk away

It doesn't look to be 10 years old by the style of the headlights.

I think the only way to see if it’s genuine is to go and view it. I would not be posting copies of the V5 to anyone, so the fact he refused wouldn’t bother me.
it does seem a bit cheap to me though.

HPI came up fine showing it as an import, but yes I’m walking away??

Fair point, I was hoping to cross as many T’s and dot as many i’s before hand. Too many wasted journeys in the past, and having previously had experience of buying a car that was cloned - you can never be too careful.

What is cheap and what is expensive, these are times that Glass's guide could never have predicted and could never judge what any potential purchaser would be willing to pay and how much the seller wants a sale. Make an offer of 25% of the advertised purchase price and negotiate from there.

That's standard advice on any purchase , good times or bad (y)

Its probably going to be a good move to be more cautious when buying a used motorhome , as the ownership demographic has seen a continuing change recently !

Just managed to find it now , don't see any worries , it is 11 years old, with hazy history and no warranty but doesn't mean it's a scam, but about right price I would think especially if you can get upwards of another 10 grand off it.

If you can buy that for £15k I'll eat my underpants.

Walk away, or even run. There are a few scam mh's advertised at the moment. They all say out of office, and give another email address to use, but in times of not a lot to do, it is good fun winding them up and making them use the oxygen they have stolen ! ::bigsmile:

Brochures for the 2010 Laika range are here Southdowns Laika

Unfortunately no weight detaiols are given, but from other ads it seems that the standard 2.3 model is on a 3500 chgassis with quoted payload of 466kg see here out and about

The 3 ltr (160) was an optional extra which would add weight there was also a chassis upgrade to 4000kg which I would have thought would have been required to give a usable payload with the 3ltr.

Also the vehicle has been stood for 4+ years what would have deteriated in that time? Full service and new tyres would probabaly be required. As it was an import is the odometer in KM or Miles?

Best of luck if you decide to veiw

Those headlamps have been in Ducato's since Sep., 2006.

As said something funny can't have a 59 plate on an old vehicle.

Edit:
Plate is right the 2020 is probably a typo.

Cause you can , when you apply to register an import you get an age related number.

Yep realised after I posted the 2020 could be a typo but I wouldn't want a van that had been unused for 4 years.
By the time this Corona job is finished there are going to be thousands that have stood 2 years and plenty supposedly brand new vans far longer.
