Hi, can anyone recomend an insurance co that will cover a car being towed on an A frame. As I have now discovered I dont have cover for it with my car or camper insurance.
Many thanks johnny K

Since 2005
try the NFU......national farmers union.

one or two members are insured with them and they understand what a toad is.

whether they'll insure the toad just while towing, i dont know.

Have you checked with your cars insurers , I tow mine on a trailer and the car is covered fully comp on its own insurance.

No you cant have insurance just for towing it will have to be transfered over to NFU in full ie all road risks as well We have our RV and Toad with the NFU both covered fully comp inc when towed, some will allow towing but only give third party cover when the toad is attached

This is another grey area whereby you could find yourself in trouble,
some insure res will cover the Motorhome fully comp and the car fully comp BUT In real life when the trailer is attached with the car on it you could find trailer is only third party and car is NOT covered at all as its considered goods in transit and G.I.T require separate cover:Eeek:

Geo the two can be separate, my RV is insured with Safeguard, which only covers the car 3rd party, and the car is fully comp including when on trailer with Admiral.

Are you old enough for Saga? They did ours and we were very specific about it all. The motorhome, the car with modification, the both together car being towed, car on it's own. Yes, yes, yes,yes they said. Jane :)

We are with the NFU fully Comp as well. They also sent us a letter stating the car was covered while being towed by an A Frame
